Lousy $80 was the cheap part of what he lost.

As Jackie Chiles said " this is America, you don't have to help anyone".

Discription to the Police; white male, scruffy beard, wearing Pirate-like cloths,
with a T-shirt that says...

..................................I got slapped by
....................................Cameron Diaz
....................................and she really
..................................put some mustard
...........................................on it!

Suspect kept repeating... "Arrrrr where be the wench? says aye."
He had a disgusting little monkey that searched the entire Bus.
Nothing was taken, even when we all offered our wallets, if he'd leave.
He only replied... "I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request... that means NO!"

One of the Roadies got this photo on their cell phone.

Actually, the scam is not all that new. I remember guys going into NYC and asking for local information to get to the customer. Someone would come on the radio and start giving them directions. Before they knew it, they were into a dead-end street with no way to back up or turn around. Back when I first started driving, that was the one thing I never did.. Ask for directions on the CB in NYC. I always recorded mine over the phone and followed them. This sounds more like they're branching out.

We could be smarter than these petty criminals and think about what they just said before we act, only takes a second.

when someone called on the CB and told him his right front tire was low.

The trucker pulled over and checked the tire, which was fine.
If someone told me a steer tire was low I would laugh at them, if I'm not feeling it pulling to the right at all I ain't planning on stopping.

Now days, everyone should be very cautious when asking for directions.

and when stopping (park in the wrong spot and you might come back to an empty truck and trailer etc)
and when talking to strangers on the cb or in restaurants or truck stops ( they will stall you while someone is unloading your truck)
and the list goes on and on.....
my point is....do not rust anyone you do not know personally. Just don't do it cause you might end up in a tight spot....
