Howdy ya'll.
I'm a 44 yr. old female. I have one hell of a sense of humor...I'm a driver...LOL..have to have one for that. :P I usually drive for O/O part-time, when they ask. Have driven for a couple companies. I live in the DFW area(TX). But I do take my driving seriously. |
Howdy, guys!
I've been lurking this forum a few weeks, now, and just got my account validated a couple of days back. My name is Max Bell, and I've been reading this forum to figure out how to go about setting up a career in trucking. As far as what I'm like is concerned, I'm 40, my professional career has previously been split up about evenly between doing home hospice and technical support (I'm DEFINITELY a computer geek), and I'm presently working to reinvent myself. |

I'm Jinx, 37, my other job is as a geologist but I've never done oilfield...just environmental. "BlooMoose" is in honor of my 17-month old son at home...my "late in life surprise"..he's priceless!! Born in NM but Lubbock, TX is currently my home. Been shag driving but thinking about going back into environmental...Lubbock driving pay sucks and with all the road construction...I just H-A-T-E an office job. I subbed out yesterday to sit a rig (drilling) putting in a monitor well, just in time for a big electrical storm. Pretty scary. I am not the typical geologist...mainly because I'm a girl but also because...I can still look good wearing dirt!!!

Name's FELIX. Had my CDL since 1995. Grew up in MiamiBeach,FL and been in Melbourne,FL since 1991.
Stumbled apon CAD while looking for a job. I loved my old job with an independant guy hauling oversize boats but funny how the economy can criple a business that hauls luxury items. Thought i was going to retire doing that. Now i pull SK8-board with a major carrior,-( i miss my old job. I'm really a Certified Watercraft/Motorcycle Mechanic but that work is very seasonal and was starving in the winter. I fugured hey, i got other skills. So i got my CDL B in '95 by renting a box truck with air brakes and got a job with Budwieser. They got me the Class A. Quit Budwieser a year later and did many things like otr reefer, regional drybox and then found a great job pulling oversize boats. I was making 25% of the load. I was out no more than 14 days and home for 10 days and made around $3200.-$3700 a month. Those days are gone. I still tinker with watercrafts but havent owned a motorcycle since 1991. I'm just too scared of people in cars. I have owned many Mustangs in my lifetime and my current toy is a 1985 convertable. Nice to meet all you fellow truckers. Here's my hobbies. Hi BlooMoose,
I have many relatives that live in Carlsbad NM and a brother that lives in Lubbock TX. Your work sounds very interesting. I see your avatar has caught many poster's attention. LOL. My husband is a driver and that's what brings me to this forum. Welcome and have fun. |

Hey BlooMoose,
My brother is also a driver and drives for Con-Way. He's happy with them. Plenty of work. By the way, what's a "shag driver"? Just curious. |

<-- Another new guy here. I'm not a trucker but I fix trucks. Does that count? I also have a CDL (Class 1 here in Canada) but only so I can test drive and take the occasional trailer across the street to the welding shop.
I'm a forum junky and always looking for another good one to add to my list. This one looks pretty active so figured I would give it a try although I'll probably hang out in Maintenance mostly. |
