Mounting a flat screen in a Columbia
 

I was inquiring on ways to securely and nicely mount a 20 or 24" flat scren in a columbua. I had one mounted before in a previous truck but it was hillbilly engineering at it's worst. It required crude drilling and a tarp strap. I googled this and come up with no commercial solutions so I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas on a nice mount.

i plan on making one that hangs from the top bunk in the Columbia. It'll be set of upside-down U at the top, then go straight down for the actual flatscreen mount to attach to. At the bottom, I'll probably just use a bungee of some sort to hold it flat against the sidewall of the sleeper.

that is a good idea, but I was looking to find a way to do it in the TV hole. Perhaps something that fills and clamps to the inside and then using a wall mount bracket.

I can't give advice on where to mount in a Columbia, but I can attest to the fact that standard household wall mount brackets hold up fantastic in a truck. I've had a flat screen in my 379 Pete for about 4 years now, and it's still holding perfectly. Mine is mounted directly to the outside of one of my cabinet doors.

I too have a standard household wall mount in my 379 and it was also in my Western Star & it's worked perfectly thus far. Mine has one of those "arms" that allows me to move it around, tilt, etc. and is mounted on the inside of one of my open cabinets/shelves.

Yep me too, I just turn it sideways and move it back inside the tv opening.

Yeppers....that's exactly what I do. Kinda convenient isn't it :p

Thanks for the replies. The pictures were a bit dark but i get the jist of it. No problems with vibration, shaking, or the occasional pothole?
