Hiring outlook for Diesel techs/mechanics
In the midst of all the obvious slowdowns everyone is experiencing, is there still a heavy need for entry-level techs?
Looking back on my high school shop days, working on engines and using hand-tools seemed to be the only classes I really ever cared about. While the local community college where I'm at seems to be more focused on churning out transfers to the UC/CSU systems, I visited San Bernardino Valley College and found they have that and a rather, healthy amount of technical certification programs. As far as their Diesel certification goes, they have an entire campus devoted exclusively to that on the former, Norton AFB. Anywho, I'm about ready to jump on this in a heartbeat seeing as how everything else is long and boring. |
Not many shop-guys around here I take it.
