This just shows how little you know about music and how poor your taste is. Which given your political views shouldn't come as any surprise. 1. Different genre's, you shouldn't compare rock to pop. 2. Led Zeppelin wasn't even the best Brit band- The Stones sh@t all over them. Hell, the Monkees were a more important rock band than Led Zeppelin. Even the Stones themselves know they are blown away by Zeppelin man, they did not even show up for the Atlantic Records 40th anniversary show in 1988 because they did not want to open up for Atlantic's biggest act ever, LED ZEPPELIN !!!! :lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2:  |
Stones are still playing today, Zeppelin has not played in years hell they dont even like each other. Notto mention their drummer was unable to deal with life.
Again with the narrow minded non functioning parachute AVC Quotes Totals are derived from cumulative album sales totals (U.S. only) http://www.riaa.com/goldandplatinumd...able=tblTopArt TOP ALBUMS http://www.riaa.com/goldandplatinumd...able=tblTop100 http://www.riaa.com/goldandplatinumd...ble=tblDiamond Key word there US Sales only.. My numbers are world wide, I found no info showing anything more then 200 million for dead zeppelin, but found as low as 250 Million for floyd up to 350 millon so I went right in the middle at 300 million, even so world wide floyd could buy and sell Zeppelin plain and simple I know that hurts you're one track southern mind but you will get used to it... Guys like you on this board are a dime a dozen we see them come and go constantly. I can now understand why you have troubles with you're jobs, I have this feeling that you are the type of employee who is constantly complaining about anything and everything to anyone who will listen..... Those are the type of guys my company just laid off... Timberwolf |
I saw a very old interview with Mick Jagger, it was shortly after they became famous, the reporter asked about the future and Mick said "I cant imagine doing this when I'm 40"

Music is quite a bit about individual taste. What one may find superb in talent may be a bark at the moon to another, IMHO.
I have been a Zep fan for a long time. Their music always gets my attention and the volume turned up! Also, my very first record (a 45 rmp) was of the Monkees (um, bought it at an antique store ;) Michael Jackson had an enormous entertainment talent. I lost my interest once he went ultra weird, and not in a fascinating way. If you want to look at numbers, you might as well throw NKOTB in there (gag).... and as far as remakes... look at the current movie lists as well as the music charts.. it commonly done in the industries. |

Timberwolf Led Zeppelin has been the biggest act in the music business PERIOD SINCE 1968 and every artist (professional musician) knows this for a fact. When you talk "worldwide sales" you need to get it though your head that there is no "official organization" that counts international sales of recordings. If you want to talk worldwide sales, take this into account, Led Zeppelin has always been the most bootlegged band in the history of the world, meaning to someone like you "who thinks he is right", that their music is and always has been, for decades, the most desired music in the world, on an international basis. Quote from above linked article: According to Clinton Heylin, author of Bootleg: The Rise & Fall of the Secret Recording History, the five most bootlegged artists are The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen |

Saying someone is the best artist because they sell the most records is like saying McDonalds is the best restaurant because they sell the most hamburgers. (And I know avc will post some BS link that says Burger King sells more than McD's)
The list of recording artists/groups that have more talent & better musicianship than Led Zepplin is far too lengthy to post here. All Led Zep ever was, was a bunch of white boys butchering up a bunch of old Blues songs. The only entertainment act in the history of the universe that was more over-rated was the Beatles. |

Lights, like the old saying goes.
Sometimes it is better that one keeps quiet because if he keeps talking he digs a deeper hole and is discovered for what he really is !!! :eek2: :smokin: I don't know where you're from but we are laughing hard at your statements for sure !! PS: Next you will tell us that the Bee Gees are the greatest "rock band" of all time !! :eek1: |
