California to reduce carbon emissions by... banning black cars?!

Things that make you go Huh.

That's funny right there. I get what they are saying and they are right to an extent, but the paint color doesn't damage the ozone as much as they think it does. Here's a better idea, ban A/C in Cali :-P I sometimes drive a white truck or a red truck in the summer and can't tell the difference in the heat of which one cools quicker and better than the other.

Windshields, backlights and sunroofs are also slated to get reflective coatings starting in 2012.
This is the part I like.

Reflective coatings on windshields???? WTF. I can see the increase in accidents because people are being blinded by the glare coming off of cars now.

It is no wonder Kalifornia is in trouble. I find it unbelievable that this state along with our government has spent billions of our tax dollars and wasted countless man hours on laws and regulations to correct a problem that has NEVER been proven to exist. There is absolutely NO evidence that global warming exists or that man has done anything to alter or change the world's climate.

That's not true there are plenty of studies by reputable scientist that say we are doing damage, but like everything else there are people on both sides that will argue with no consensous (sp?).

Too many people live here and use their cars for just about any length of trip they have to take.
I could understand 20+miles and such, but down the block for a 20 oz soda, I'm not prying them out of bed when they get stuck.

Aside from that, everything else here has pretty much gone down in quality just because of the overpopulation fact.

Jackrabbit379 03-27-2009 03:54 PM

Well, that's the most fumblistic thing I ever heard. That makes a lot of sense. http://http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/...nfused0075.gif
How dumb.

In a way Gman is right. Global Warming is a fiction layed upon us by scientists who were too quick to sound an alarm without truly understanding what they were talking about. Now the name has stuck.

Abrupt Climate Change, which is now the term being tossed about, seems to be a lot more accurate since the climate of any given region is changing at a rate many times faster than ever before discovered. What, in past ages, has taken thousands of years is happening in decades.

Very few doubt what is happening, the argument comes from why it is happening, and what can and should be done about it, if anything can be done about it except trying to survive.

Is the problem due to all the pollutants man is pumping into the atmosphere, is it due to a yet undiscovered shift in the orbit of the planet, or is it a "burp" in the data like the little ice age, but much more wide spread? I honestly don't know. Too many conflicting studies out there, all from what could be called credible sources. What I do know is that without more accurate information it is possible that we could make matters worse with half cocked solutions.
