Yeah. What he said.

It's amazing how guys can operate equipment. I know some guys who have got talent, when it comes to running equipment, but that was just nutz. :hellno:

That thing has some good balance to sit on that small of a ledge while he moves the stick higher up.

That was truly amazing how he can move up that tower. He really has a gentle touch. He better hope that he doesn't lose his balance, I don't think he could survive the fall. I have had a few crane operators who really had a gentle touch. It is amazing how some of those guys can handle a piece of equipment that large.

That was pretty slick and now we all know why they call German the language of love.

Snowman7 02-13-2009 01:55 AM

Wow! A hydraulic failure wouldve been all bad!

GMAN 02-13-2009 09:34 PM

That was quite an engineering feat to develop a tower that he could climb.

If you watch the video real close you'll see that it locks onto the tower right below the operators cab between the tracks. The boom also has two 3" high tensil pins that lock it to the tower when he's moving the machine up. Don't take me wrong, that's talent and b@ll$ to operate it that way. Of course the million dollar question - why would anyone ever have a need for an excavator that can climb a tower?

Mackman 02-14-2009 01:12 AM

That was cool. But they should have used a CAT or a Case.
