No Landing Gear

Sunoco tankers are the only company i know of that takes the landing gear off their trailers. I guess they really want to save on the weight. Any other company's do this??

Another words, the tractor and trailer are a "MARRIED PAIR"??? They NEVER drop and hook??

Gee, what was your first clue Mrs Obvious? :lol2:

Most likely the company has stands at the terminal to drop a trailer on when the need arises. I would imagine that gas tankers are,t into drop and hook, as loading one doesn't take very long at all.

Maybe there's a different reason? Perhaps their route takes them over RR tracks that are at a particuliarly bad angle? i dunno, just thinkin outloud.

That's odd.
Maybe it has something to do with their truck's wheelbase. The tail-end is too close to the landing gear. Every once in a while, I may pull a long trailer, with a twin screw. Sometimes, I may use the same twin screw a couple nights. I know our twin screws' tail-ends come real close to the landing gear on our pups.
That sounds strange, though. What if you have to drop the trailer.

All of the trailers that i seen have no landing gear. Now i look for it. I will try to get some pics.

You mean like if you have 8000 gallons of gasoline and the tractor catches on fire? That trailer's gonna hit the ground my friend!:D
