Get your free Dr. Pepper - Today only!

On March 26, 2008, various media outlets reported that Dr Pepper will offer a free can of Dr Pepper to everyone in America — excluding former Guns N' Roses guitarists Buckethead and Slash—if the band releases Chinese Democracy in 2008.[11][12] Later on March 26, Rose replied to Dr Pepper on Guns N' Roses' official website and spoke of his surprise at Dr Pepper's support. Rose also said he would share his Dr Pepper with Buckethead as "some of Buckethead's performances are on [Chinese Democracy]".[13] After it was announced that the album would be released in 2008, Dr Pepper confirmed that it would uphold its pledge.

Yes, this is true - Dr. Pepper is giving away a free can of soda to every man, woman, and child in the US today, and today only, in honor of Guns N' Roses actually releasing "Chinese Democracy"!

To get your free soda, you have to register on their website:

http://www.drpepper.com/freeDrPepper/

Server times on the site are slow. I'm curious to see how many people register when all is said and done.

Make sure you thank Axl Rose for your free soda!

Have you heard the new AC/DC disc "Black Ice"? OMG - it completely rules!!! You would swear it was made in the late 70's.

Oh yeah... brilliant! I play it all of the time. Much better come back album (cd) than Metallica or Guns and Roses. Metallica was like a tease... almost gets you there but not quite. I was/am a mega Metallica fan. Guns and Roses CD is really bad in my book. I heard that Shaq even did a song for it but it didn't make the cut.. Thank goodness!!

Rev.Vassago 11-23-2008 01:22 AM

I would have been genuinely shocked had the new GNR album been good. After all, just think about how much music has changed since the early to mid 1990's when the album was first started.

jd112488 11-23-2008 01:44 AM

i bet this is a surprise comming from me, but i love the new ac/dc. the GNR song is not bad, but it sounds nothing like gnr. i think if you listen to the song, axle rose is trying to have a rob zombie kinda sound. i think the reason ac/dc always does so good is that you know an ac/dc song as soon as it starts playing. they have now messed with the formula that got them to the point of rock gods. metallica, gnr, and many of the bands in the same genre always want to seem to re-create themselves to sell records to NEW fans. ac/dc sells to their fans, that have been fans for 30 years. just my opinion, i would love a dr. pepper now that you mention it.

Colts Fan 11-23-2008 01:47 AM

I heard that new GNR song the other night and I thought it rocked. :guitar: :band:

+1

The other night I had to work late, and one of the local radio stations was playing the entire "Chinese Democracy" album, so I heard quite a few of the tracks.

Not bad IMHO.

mike3fan 11-23-2008 03:56 AM

On the subjest of old bands with new CD's out, check out the new Motley Crue "Saints of Los Angeles",it is based off thier book "Dirt" and I am completely wearing this thing out. I was surprised at how good it was after the last few albums left me,well disatisfied to say the least.

Apparently, due to the high demand (and their sucky ass servers), they have extended the free Dr. Pepper offer for one more day!

BIG JEEP on 44's 11-24-2008 01:00 AM

They're going to have to do better than a free can of Pepper ,as an apology for realeasing another G-N-R album .What's next a six pack of PIBB and a Winger box set ?

Why is it that most drivers only seem to own AC/DC and old Metallica albums ...I mean everytime I heard someone play a song over the cb it was without fail Back in Black .

Old Metallica suffers from mad over play...How many time can a radio station be excited to play Fade to Black ,Master of puppets Or Enter sandman ?

Same here. I like Coke myself. That rough smooth taste. :p

JeffTheTerrible 11-27-2008 06:24 PM

I can't be assed to be bothered with a new GNR album. The way I see it, they ceased being GNR a long time ago. Now it's "Axl Rose and the handful of people left in the world willing to put up with his BS". Maybe it's alright, maybe it's not. In 17 years of waiting for a new album, I've completely lost my enthusiasm for this band.
Now let's talk about this crapfest recently released by Metallica...

Kranky 11-28-2008 12:42 AM

Actually, I think some of the new Metallica tracks sound rather "classic".

"Death Magnetic" is definitely a step up from "St. Anger". JMO.

Well, yeah, but is that really saying much? Maybe the album would've fared a little better if it hadn't become another victim of the loudness war... it's a bit ridiculous, because the production for the Guitar Hero version trumps the production for the studio version by a long shot. But while people don't invest in good stereo equipment, and use crappy Dollar General earbud headphones, and so forth, studios are going to butcher the production by trying to make it as loud as possible, to the point where everything drowns out and gets reduced to one jumbled mass.

Syncrosonix 11-28-2008 03:18 PM

"death magnetic" is horrible. i've stopped listening to metallica after buying "load" and thinking to myself, "man, this shit sucks! what the HELL happened?!" i'm one of those dudes who actually loves the black album. but, i don't like anything that has come out after it.

metallica is like the elderly people who cannot see while driving, and refuse to call it quits. metallica needs to either go back to boozing, or simply hang up their instruments. just like the old people who don't know when it's time to permanently stay the hell off the road, and give up their driver licenses.

has anybody heard amon amarth's new album? i've heard several songs from it and they all kick ass. perhaps i need to stop into the nearest best buy and buy it.

rev, your topic has been hijacked by the board terrorists.

Since the original topic is dead anyway because it was time sensitive, hijack away.

Yeah, more the same as I feel. It's like with Sepultura, where it's common to slag off Chaos A.D., but I still think that was a great album.
Don't know if anyone here is a fan of Witchfinder General, but I was very disappointed with Resurrected.

supultura WAS great back in the day. since they come from brazil, it made their sound even more brutal. it sounded like the apocalypse was actually here, and i was enjoying it! then there's soulfly...."back to the primitive" is a pretty good album. i remember back in high school, i'd crank that mofo before and after school while rolling into the student parking lot. it then became buried underneath all the other cd's i've bought over the years. i finally listened to it again last year. i then realized and thought to myself, "man, i thought this stuff was great. it's terrible!" now i shake my head in disbelief.

did you know max only uses teh top 4 strings while playing the guitar? he's so boring on it. i never knew that until i watched a video on youtube where he's talking about his playing methods and what not.

misspatty86 12-02-2008 08:51 AM

thanks for sharing that. I'd love a free Dr. Pepper.
