I was being funny. Thinking about all the people that are supporting Obama in this election, and may considering more drastic measures a year from now.

McCain actually hurt his chances with some of the ads that were put out about Obama. The ones that Obama put out about McCain didn't bring a lot of flack, but when McCain does it, it's not received in the same way.

In Wausau, WI, at the corner of Seventh and Park avenues, there is a concrete slab behind one of the houses. A lawyer's logic said it was 8 feet by 20 feet. Now, thirty years later, it still measures 20 feet long, seven feet wide and a foot high. Seven plus one equals eight, the judge said. That is the kind of logic that scares me with Obama. Even if he actually does mean well, he's an attorney. He's not going to have grasp of the root cause of the problems. Instead, like everyone else, he's going to be pulling the leaves and putting "PATCHES" on things that will not solve anything, and only make things worse in the future.

To be completely honest, I really think it's the advisors they both have that are using "FLAWED SCIENCE". Obama has stated, early in the primary, that he is not strong on the economy. So, where is he coming up with his concepts on the economy? We had a thread on this board, not that long ago, and we all wondered just what qualified all those "SO-CALLED" EXPERTS. Personally, "EX" means "FORMER", and a "SPERT" is a "DRIP UNDER PRESSURE". And, somewhere back during the era of their mothers and fathers, each and every one of them qualified. But, that's not going to do us any good today.

Yeah right. I mean after all why else would a 35 year career military man, recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Legion of Merit and many other awards, Charmin of the joint chiefs of staff a national security adviser for Ronald Regan and college educated man who has served this country for decades including Vietnam and The Gulf War have any other reason for endorsing a candidate than his race. Your logic, much like the Republican party's, reeks of desperation. Even John McCain said he respected his friend.

You say that you hope America wakes up, my friend they have. The politics of fear and hate will work no more.

p.s. Powell is Jamaican American, not African American like Obama

Obama wins? Sure, if you believe everything you read or hear from the "media".

This time in 2004 Kerry was beating Bush by 11 points.

Polls are meaningless attempts to manufacture news.

It ain't over until it's over, and I sure as hell hope the silent, sane, rational majority turns out in droves to send Obama and the news media down to defeat.

"Plumber Joe" may turn out to be the Godsend we needed.

Democrat voters: The ultimate mind-numbed robots.

Not hardly. A win by Obama simply means America has fallen deeper into a coma. But, hey! Civil Wars get pretty loud. I'm sure that'll wake a few people up.

I still say that Obama will win and then the bottom will drop out. I'm reminded of the old saying..."you ain't seen nothin' yet!"

I don't know about all of his awards, but I am pretty sure that he doesn't have a Purple Heart. The only way one can receive a Purple Heart is by being wounded. I don't think he was ever wounded. In any case, Colin Powell has never really been a conservative. I think he associated himself with the Republican party at one time because it was the politically correct thing to do at the time. The politics of fear continue to work for the Democrats. That is the reason Obama is doing as well as he is. He is praying on that fear. If people would stop and think for themselves, we would likely never elect another Democrat. Obama is not even a Democrat. He is at best a Socialist. At worst, a Communist. Everything he espouses is anti-American. This country is about freedom. Free thought is something his party is fighting to suppress with thier so called "Fairness Doctrine." If Obama is in reality an African American then he is not qualified to hold the office of President. The President must be a native born citizen. An African American was not born in the U.S. They were born in Africa.

I agree GMAN. I think it was said best from Rush:

"Secretary Powell says his endorsement is not about race," Limbaugh wrote in an e-mail. "OK, fine. I am now researching his past endorsements to see if I can find all the inexperienced, very liberal, white candidates he has endorsed. I'll let you know what I come up with."

As for Powell's statement of concern this morning about the sort of Supreme Court justices a President McCain might appoint, Limbaugh wrote: "I was also unaware of his dislike for John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy and Antonin Scalia. I guess he also regrets Reagan and Bush making him a four-star [general] and secretary of state and appointing his son to head the FCC. Yes, let's hear it for transformational figures."

If Obama does win and the bottom falls out it will still be the fault of George Bush. Congress has had nothing to do with anything that goes wrong, unless they are Republicans, of course. They have blamed George Bush for everything than has gone wrong for the last 8 years. I suppose they can continue to blame him for a few more years.

If Obama wins with a Democratic congress you will see a number of changes take place in this country. First, you will see our freedom of speech curtailed with passage of their fairness doctrine. It is designed to eliminate conservative talk shows. As supreme court justices retire they will be replaced with those who will continue to curtail our freedoms. Prepare for a new interpretation of the 2nd amendment. We will be told that our right to bear arms is no longer valid and we will need to turn in our firearms. A grace period will be given for all to turn in their arms without fear of criminal prosecution. Mandatory jail time will be given to anyone caught having a fire arm. They will only be allowed by the military and police. Private citizens will no longer be allowed to own guns. Obama and the socialists will continue to attack our right to worship freely and to force everyone to have health insurance. They will make it a criminal offense for an employer to not furnish health insurance to his employees. Citizens will find it more difficult if not impossible to go to the doctor of their choice. Illegals will be allowed to vote and be given citizenship by the Obama Socialist Party, oops I mean the Democrats. Children will be forced to take drugs to make them more manageable. Parental rights will be curtailed and any child who wants birth control pills or an abortion will be able to do so without her parents knowledge. A couple of years into his administration people will begin to realize that when the government gives them something for free that their taxes go up. Duh!! More authority will be given to the IRS to take more money from taxpayers. They already pretty much have a Carte Blanche to do what they will without the benefit of a trial. It will get worse as people begin to question how much they are paying for this government who continues to take away their rights. The environment and the EPA will continue to grow in authority to enforce policy. Christianity will be further targeted as evil while Islam is embraced. We will have the first Islamic president. Some will demand more freebies while the majority begin to rebel against the government. Martial law is enacted and the constitution is suspended. We now have the first U.S. dictatorship. Apathy has allowed these people to get as far as they have. Apathy is the enemy of freedom. Only a massive public outcry can turn things around. It could even come to an armed conflict between the people and the government. Think this is far fetched? It would behove you who doubt this can happen to look at history.

I find it interesting that these people continue to attack Sarah Palin for her lack of experience. I don't believe any of them have actually held a real job in the private sector, much less had to run a business.

The truth of the matter is that millions of blacks and liberal whites are going to vote for Obama simply because he is black. They want history to be made. They may get more than they want if he is successful.

Ya know, that sounds like a book I've read once or thrice.

Signs of the times, my friend. Better be investing in canned goods and shotgun shells.
