Check This Out!
We've been posting quite a few really great YouTube music links, which I am diggin' mannnnn. 8)
How about turning us onto something you know about, which is a gem, and not well known. I have quite a few, I can share, not in the mainstream. I'll start with Orianthi. She is my favorite female artist for the moment. She sings and plays guitar hotter than Vai, Petrucci, Santana, etc. and is very hott looking. 8) That's what I'm talkin' about!
RD...thanks for turning me onto Tal last week. That is what I hope to accomplish with this thread. New artists, and music not well known. Here is another youngster...extremely talented! MattRach is a young Frenchman. I've been following his music for over a year now. He plays his own drums, bass and guitar. http://mattrach.com/ http://www.myspace.com/mattrachguitar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsV0Mvy4no4 |
No problem, saw her at Crossroads last year (BTW Orianthi was there also) and she just blew everyone away, no one knew who she was.
Susan Tedeschi has been around for years and I've always liked her. The other 2 are local Chicago musicians that I've known for years. There really are a lot of great musicians locally that no one outside of Chicago knows about. Here's another guy I've been going to see since the early '80's (yes I'm that old...) Mike Tafoya & the Lost Boyzz Are you familiar with Shelby Lynn? |

Nice but no Pat Metheney
|
How bout "Indiana Wants Me" Reb?

Thanky kindly...didn't know about Pat Metheney. I have a relative on my Mom's side who is a professional Jazz guitarist. I always admire his ability, and he had one of those really cool old Gibson L-5CES. Not like the ES-175 Pat is using. The Wes Montgomery one. My early favorites were Wes, Joe Pass, and George Benson. When it comes to Jazz, I like Piano and Sax best.
