I run a 13 inch tv and dvd player off a 350 watt that plugs into the lighter

I dont know if it is the samething but the ones that plug in and have a plug in the top of them.

sbatson 09-13-2008 11:59 PM

I think they are like $25 bucks or so.

I run 13" TV with separate VCR on a 400w peak 800w cig lighter plug in. They both run fine simultaneously. Cobra model 450.
(I know VCR is outdated. It only exists as a TV tuner. One of these days Ill trade it out for a DVD.)

I ran a 14" with built in DVD player off one of these also

sbatson....The one TK has is the same one I use. Works just fine.

Well that would work, its cheap too. The reason I ask about the real cheap plug ones is I have one and I'm trying to get by right now for the next 2 weeks untill I can get one like you guys have. And would one of those you have, will it work on a fridge too?

Drew10 09-14-2008 01:27 AM

No way will any cig plug in work for a fridge. The inverter we are talking about on this thread is about the largest you will get that will plug into the cig.
Not sure what size inverter will power a fridge...but it will have to be a hardwired direct to the batteries.
I would suggest you start with an 12v plug in cooler They generally will work well for most situations over the road. Unless you plan on bringing alot of food that is required to be frozen.
Before you start buying inverters that need to be hardwired, you would want to check on the companies policy regarding this type inverter. You may also want to check on the company policy regarding cig plug in inverters as some will not allow even those.

Ok I'll buy one of those cobras for the T.V. deal and I'll try to research or see if anyone posts on here about the fridge deal and I will check with the company too just to avoid any problems, they are pretty laid back so its probably not a problem.
