Need some Bedbugger help
Got a buddy moving from Memphis to Seattle and he is using North American. He was asking about how to tip the movers and the proper etiquette for it. Any help?

If it is a big job, the sky is the limit. I've been tipped as much as $500 cash, and once was given a set of $4000 speakers as a tip. |
Yeah he plans on doing the food and water deal. It's either a condo or apartment he is moving into. I know he said something about having to go up 3 flights of stairs. He is also wondering about having to tip at the pickup and deliver points instead of just the deliver point. Apparently someone told him about 2 different crews doing the move due to the distance. Wasn't someone from NA but a work buddy or something.
Thanks for the help Rev. |

I usually get most of my tips at unloading. $200 wouldn't be a bad tip for 3-6000lb move that goes down smoothly. $250 for up to 10K lbs.
I got an $800 tip once (sorry to one-up the Rev). My first dirtbike (Kawasaki KX80) was a tip for my dad way back in the day. Do not buy pizza for the help. It's like throwing an anchor on them. Sandwiches w/o mayo is best. North American isn't the best, but far, far from the worst. He should be alright. |

No, driver tip. Lumpers are good for a 20 spot, but weight of shipment lays a factor. on my 800 tip, each lumper got a buck twenty. That was rare, though, but I always did good on tips.
And, I have kept tips more than once when I get labor with attititdes or plain out sucked. |

And another thing on tipping...
You tip a pizza guy to bring a VERY replaceable item to your house1-5 miles. But when you're life's posessions go 2000+mi and you can't replace everything, it's worth nothing (to some). All in all, I'm calling out all the idots here that have bashed HHG hauling, and they know who they are.... talking about hauling someone's "crap". Yeah, it IS crap. Its a rickety chair your dead grandfather made by hand. It's stupid macaroni art your first born made in preschool. Its wedding dresses and wedding photos. Its your Lionel train collection, 1/2 of em don't even work. yep, it is crap...until it's your possessions  |
