Technical Support Question
 
I put this question in on the products site but no response thus far.

Does anyone have one of those flip camera's, specifically the Flip ultra?

I want to upload the videos but the stupid support software won't install.

I didn't get any notices that my settings were unexceptable.

Running Windows Vista

It's some stupid redundant software called Muuvee.

It says it is installing but then it just sits there forever. By forever I'm exaggerating a tad, but I gave up after a freaking hour when it just said 1% installed.

I had no other systems open while attempting.

I don't want them saved on my hard drive just on a hard copy.

Ideas anyone?

I assume this camera has a plug that you connect to the computer. If so, don't install the software. What you should do is plug the camera in, then open up "My Computer" (which on Vista is called "Computer", I believe). Once you have done that, you should see three icons (minimum). One will be your hard drive, one will be your CD ROM, and the third one will be something that is likely called "Removable Hard Drive". That one is your camera. Double click on it to open it, and navigate through whatever folders the camera has to find your pictures. Once you have found them, highlight them all, and right click. Select "COPY". Go to whatever folder you want them in, and right click and select "PASTE". This should copy all the pictures onto your computer.

(I had a problem with my computer suddenly not finding the drivers for the camera, and this was the workaround I came up with).

I would un-install all the software. Restart and then just plug in your camera (assume you have USB cable?).

Open computer, open removable drive. copy/paste or cut/paste file were ever you want it.

The solution is easy. Uninstall Vista and install XP.
