What Trucks Pass You Most?

Ours are speed limited at 70 mph, yet independents, containers and parking lots pass me most often. Once in a while FedEx will pass me, and many of the small operators.

Anybody else?

With my top speed being 62mph now, it's pretty much everyone passing me - including little old ladies in an 80s model Cadillac when she can't even see over the steering wheel.

I came off the road a gfew weeks ago but the whole time i was out Fed Ex and UPS seemed to be the main culprits blowing by me everytime I saw them.

Thats about the only trucks on the road anyway when I run...Night time linehaul...Isn't it great!

That's because you haven't seen an INTERSTATE in years!

To answer the O.P....... ONLY faster ones!! And they are few and far between!

But, seriously...... if anyone CARES...... with so many trucks governed below 65, the trucks that pass you are obviously either O/O's or REEFER trucks! Groceries have to get to the distribution center while they are still fresh!

"Sticks" (furniture) and other DRY commodities have no expiration date!

Anything carrying PODS containers always seems to be in a hurry...

Last truck driving job I had was heavy haul. I don't know what the truck was governed at, but I'd usually keep it at 67/68, to give me enough of an edge to get past Schneider, Swift, Knight, USA, Yellow, Roadway, ABF, etc., but I never felt any need to go faster than that. So, anyone who could and wanted to pass me was more than welcome to.

Right now, nothing with a DOT number passes me in my four wheeler. And they won't drive faster in the yard than I will with my spotter, especially considering that they'll soon be at my mercy afterwards, since it's the spotters who park and retrieve the trailers, bringing them out front to the truck drivers. It makes me feel so... empowered 8)

Anything pulling a cattle rack. I remember rolling north on I29 one night at about 74 mph and almost getting blown off the road by a bull hauler. One second there was nothign behind me and the next second I was being rocked almost to the shoulder and dang near lost my drivers side mirror. My quess is he was rolling about 120. The night before that a bull hauler put his truck in the median at a backup and flopped it on its side. I remember that one real well. I was stopped in backed up traffic, a couple 4 wheelers pulling hourse trailers were tangled up on the road. I looked in the mirror and there was this big old christmas tree rolling at me and looked like he was going to drive right up my back. He swerved at the last min and went bouncing along in the median with gravel and grass flying everywere. I watched the whole works just flop right over on its side. After the dust cleared and I was abotu ready to get out and run over there, he comes on the radio. Is my trailer turned over? I said, are you ok? "yes" can you see the grass against your side window? LOL heres you sign.
