Big Rig - Trucking Documentary
Has anyone watched the movie "Big Rig" that was released on DVD on Tuesday ? I watched it last night and was a little disappointed with it. They could have found some better drivers to ride along with to represent us. One that stood out to me was this guy that drove a parking lot and was at the chrome shop getting more lights added to the dash of his truck and going on about how many lights he had on this truck and trailer. Then he went on to say how he has women all over the country that he "visits" because that is how he "gets down" or "rolls", some crap like that. The movie was 90 minutes long and it seemed that damn near a third of it was just shots of road signs and this digital map they kept showing. I had high hopes for this but it just didn't meet my expectations. I am glad that someone did a movie like this and maybe they'll do another one and cover more of what goes on out here everyday. It has quite a bit of "DVD extras" that I haven't had a chance to watch yet, maybe they'll win me over. 8) 8)

Where did you pick it up at? I would like to see it. it has been a long time coming. I guess it was produced by a small time documentary film maker so I guess you can't expect to much.

I've seen it available at most truck stops. It's also on Amazon but it's actually cheaper in the truck stops, which is amazing. http://www.amazon.com/Big-Rig-Dale-S...2933350&sr=8-1

I watched all the special features and they were actually pretty good. There was several deleted scenes that were good and should have been in the main feature. There was also a behind the scenes with the crew and that's where I found out why they had what drivers they did. The crew consisted of 3 guys in a rental camper driving around trying to catch rides with truck drivers to find out their story and perspective. A camera man and a sound guy were the ones in the truck and the third guy followed in their camper. They approached many drivers and kept getting turned away. Most drivers kept saying they didn't have the time even though the crew said they were ready to go within a few minutes. So it looks like they did their best with what drivers agreed to the deal. The other stuff was a behind the scenes thing at Sirius Road Dog Trucking channel, some show trucks stuff, an IdleAire clip, safety tips for 4 wheelers, some music video and a commentary. I'm probably not blown away with this movie because I do it everyday so it's nothing new to me but for someone that's not in this industry it would be good for them to see it, unfortunately those are the people that probably never will. 8) 8)

I mentioned this a while back. My Dad got interviewed by these people at Jubitz a while back. I made a thread about it. I'd like to see if they put him in it.

I don't know if the links are still good, but I noticed it was posted on watch-movies.net:

Last night I picked it up and watched it. I thought it was pretty good and I'm going to show it to my family and my friends. It may not be that great to us drivers, but I think it may be a good flick to show our friends what it's like out here and the people we deal with on a day to day basis... Although, It would of been nice to hear some more history on the drivers and less of the political bullsh|t... Anyways, I liked it.

According to Teal95KW, my dad is the one the interview when they mention bedbugging. I'm semi-famous?
