My buddy and I have talked to 11 drivers that have parked trucks at home because of the fuel prices. 4 staited "I'm making money but tired of the gouging". These guys aint striking just takin a little break. These O/Os are only from MI. How many more out there are just takin a break?[[/u]

All talk no facts ...I was out in Walton KY a few weeks back ,And there was some A$$ clown on the radio professing to be making a fortune hauling flat bed pulling back to back 1000 miles loads at no less than $3.50 a mile ...And 1 what got me was the construction induistry is slow ,and that is much of what flat bedders pull , And second this person made it sound like $3.50.$4.50 per mile freight was just in excess and ripe for the picking ...And he was trash talking about how is making over 100k to himself a year easily and his $2500 dollar a month truck payment is "chicken feed" I simply inquired why did'ne he pay straight cash for the rig then ?...out of all the drivers out there that own their own business most who are sucessfull are still only grossing 45-55 to themselves ...which can be done just as easy as a company driver ...I only know of a few select drivers who haul specialized commodity that pays $3.50-4.00 per mile and it's rare and usually is contract work ...So unless you can show some hard factas and paths to travel on your claimed road to riches while driving a truck with a market flooded with $1.50 mile freight I'm going to write you off as an asshat talking B.S> he can't back up with hard facts .
