Online games forum idea

Ok - something I was thinking about today while driving.

I already pay for a forum that was being used for our company on Trukz. Well, with everything that happened yesterday... There's a lot of us that play online games besides Trukz. So, how about a "restructuring" of the forums.

We will have sections for General Chat, Tech help, plus sections for "major" games that we play. A major game would be one that a lot of people are interested in. There would also be a forum for posting online games that you play, of course. Basically, it'd be a place to talk about games, computers, whatever.

I don't want anyone to think that I'm trying to pull any traffic away from CAD - that's the main thing. We're going to be "focused" on gaming in general.

Also, we could go as far as allowing sub-forums for the games (say Trukz) that would be set up for a per-company usage. These sub-forums would be private - requiring a user to be added to a usergroup (similar to what we already have) before they could access them. The number of games/sub-forums is basically endless to what we could have.

Even though most online games have their own forums, this is different as it allows users to truly speak their mind without much worry (aka Trukz).

Also, the forum will offer Live Chat (text). It may be possible to setup permanent private "rooms" as needed for individual groups in a certain game (eg. a company on Trukz). I just have to work on that part.

So, give me your thoughts on this.

Hrm...

I wonder if anyone still uses my forum dirthaulers dot net??

:runs to go see:

Oh yeah, I'm terribly broken that CTI is gone, I'd jump off a bridge if I could, but being bedridden kinda hampers that.

I wish we had more smiles on here...

Yeah, when CTI went down Mal had just re-upped the site for another month, once that month was up the site closed.

Well, considering the fact that there was no traffic whatsoever, it seemed pointless to pay to keep it open.

You should have kept it open in anticipation of Mackman trying to get back in.
