CANADA

does canada rearrest you for things you did way back? ive just heard rumors

If you had a trial and were aquitted or found not guilty, then no you cannot be re-arested. If however you were arrested and released before court appearance, then yes you can be re-arrested

Clear as mud, hope this helps

And of course, they can decline to allow you to enter the country.

My brothers and his friends were going into Canada for some skiing and my brothers friend was turned away because he had a DUI on his record. I understand not allowing some people with certain things on their records, but I thought that this was a little extreme.

It's actually quite simple. You are not permitted to cross international boundries with a FELONY on your record. Here in the States, and I believe in Mexico, a DUI is not a felony.... YET. But, in Canada, a DUI is a felony. So, while he may be able to cross into Mexico without any problem, he is not permitted in Canada with a DUI on his record.

Yeah Windwalker, I figured as much. I have been fortunate for many years that I haven't gotten into any trouble, knock on wood. It has been at least 13 years since I have been into Canada and about 9 since I've been to Mexico.

Well, if someone in Canada wants to come down here, and was convicted of an offense in Canada that is a felony here, that person is not permitted down here either. Now, I do know that New Zealand does not have a problem with a DUI yet. He could try that, and they do have great skiing.

Windwalker, I see you are from FL. Still live there? My wife and I Vacation in Palm Coast, just north of Daytona. We have friends down there and she is ready to head back down to live there again. I am to the point that I'm ready to vacate Ohio, the state has went to...well you know.

Well, if you check your map, you'll find that Holiday is on the WEST coast, about 18 miles north of St Pete.
