International Lonestar

It's officially in production! http://www.internationaltrucks.com/LoneStar/

BanditsCousin 02-07-2008 04:57 PM

I like the front end. Its like the front of a locomotive that sweeps livestock and game off the tracks. HHmmm...

greg3564 02-07-2008 05:02 PM

That has to be the ugliest damn truck I've ever seen. What the hell? At least International is being consistent.

Double L 02-07-2008 05:07 PM

I actually like it. I've always liked International for some reason but that Lonestar is one sweet looking truck, I'm impressed with the new murphy bed technology and It's a hell of alot cheaper than any paccar product and probably will get better fuel milage over a paccar product. Why waste money on a paccar product when you can get a better truck for half the cost. 8)

BanditsCousin 02-07-2008 05:10 PM

The quality is an opinion. The price factor is definitive and factual

Double L 02-07-2008 05:16 PM

But ya know this was gonna happen sooner or later, I know I didn't like the changes of all the new trucks but face it you'll learn to appreciate it when you have more money in your pocket when your saving money in fuel! But I would rather own a Volvo for the safety!

BanditsCousin 02-07-2008 05:53 PM

Are Volvos safer? I didn't know they were known for that. On the other hand, I didn't hear they were death traps either :)

I think the exterior of the new 'National looks like th old Pro Sleeper.

TruckerChris 02-07-2008 09:06 PM

That is one awesome looking truck. Finally, something different!

Think about it Pete has not done anything differant with its sleepers since it came out with its Ulra yet it is still based off the 359 HIGH RISE model. No wonder a pete is so poorly deisgned they are stuck in the 80's in their sleepers.

"Metro Sexual Tractor" of the future... here today!
Designed by a midget gay Japanese/German designer, to attract homosexuals to the Trucking Industry. :?

Although, this concept will backfire, and attract mostly Mexican drivers, who will add even more chrome and colored lights.

Tell that to a cow hauler. :P
Mmmmmmm all those lights, and that sound that those straights make. :P

This Lonestar....I dunno. Kinda like they are making it an antique. Like a Diamond T.

Slap a couple of cow and horse stickers on the side and it would fit right in in LA. That thing is hideous.

If nothing else you gotta like that bed design. Nice soffa in the sleeper area without losing out on a real bed with a matress or having to climb up to one. Nice interior. I like the whole truck myself.

I like the murphy bed idea... more room in the sleeper.

I agree. The outside is friggin ugly, but I kinda like the interior. I'm really not seeing anything too revolutionary about this truck, though. Seems like it's the same old truck they've been selling for years in a different shell.

RostyC 02-08-2008 09:21 PM

It's starting to grow on me a little. My wife liked it at first glance though. I didn't see a price tag on it, runs about normal I guess?

RebelDarlin 02-10-2008 12:56 PM

Saw this at the Chicago Auto Show today. Can't say anything about how it drives or rides, but the inside of the cab and the sleeper is SWEET!

Snowman7 02-10-2008 03:40 PM

I like it from the pictures. I'll bet it grows on you guys when you see it in person.

That is one thing I notice about new trucks that are freshly introduced, they look WAY better in person than they do in the pics. Especially on truck paper or something like that where they have multiple pics and you get them just right, man they look good! Speaking of new trucks what happened to that areo package that are on the new Pete 388/389? I never seen a new Pete with the areo package at all! :?

Your right the only thing differnt I've noticed about the 389 is the ugly headlights.

ben45750 02-16-2008 06:58 PM

I kinda like it because it's different but it just looks too much like a over sized PT Cruiser.

Phantom433a 02-17-2008 12:35 AM

If you watch the unvieling video, the first vehicle you see is a 1940's international pickup and yes the big grill does remind you of the Diamond T's. They've gone with the retro look just like auto manufactures have. The inside does look nice, roomy and a bit brighter compared to many I've driven. With the lock away storage maybe now many drivers can clean off their dash and quit making it look like a junkyard. On the outside, the only real changes they have made are hood, bumper, headlights and aircleaner AND it comes with chicken lights already installed. With the way the hood sweeps back, you should see some increase in fuel efficiency. Check out the specs on this thing before you attack it, dosen't look to be all that bad and I do like the retro look. Too bad they didn't come out with this 15 yrs ago, I woulda bought one in the 2 tone paint.

RebelDarlin 02-17-2008 03:31 AM

This truck was pretty cool too!

Building the DMAXX
The DMAXX began life as a 1939 International D-Series "half ton" pick-up. It was found at George Mitchell's Nollenberger International Dealership in Toledo, Ohio. In September, 2007 this D-39 was shipped to American Speed Company in Plymouth, Michigan, where it would be totally rebuilt and reborn. DMAXX was completed on January 22nd, 2008.

http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u..._DMAXX_430.jpg

The DMAXX is a 1939 International D-Series 1/2-ton pickup that has been brought fully up to date with an International MaxxForce 7 twin turbo diesel, putting out 350 horsepower @ 3000 rpm and 650 ft. lbs. of torque at 2000 rpm. In addition, it has an Allison 1000 automatic, a Ford 9" rear axle, an Air-Ride Technologies full air suspension, 18" wheels and other goodies.
