Tanker Landing Gear Collapse (PICS)

Bad day at work. Landing gear collapsed on me with the LOADED tanker- 42,000lbs+ of UN1993 flammable liquids. Luckily, it didn't go all the way over and there was no rupture, no release, no injuries. And I got to take the first drug and alcohol test of the new year.

Good thing no one was hurt? Have they figured out why the landing gear was faulty? Glad to see no one was hurt.

Man that sucks, Hope I never have that problem

Doh!
Why the drug test? Clearly this was equipment failure. Or was it just a standard test?

PhuzzyGnu 01-04-2008 12:38 PM

Drug test is SOP for an incident at work resulting in injury and/or damage. I don't care- covers my butt. As do the pictures I took after everything settled down showing the gear was fully extended and showing the crossmember snapped.

The landing gear was "repaired" last week. Not well:

Dumb question. But why is the Red side air line connected to the trailer?

Some of the pics were taken after we started to offload the trailer prior to the heavy wrecker hoisting it up.

The pneumatic valves on the trailer require the trailer air supply to be hooked up.
