Who says hard work dont pay off

From the link.
Hendricks, the son of a roofer, worked side-by-side with his father growing up. A high school dropout, he started his own roofing business at age 21, according to his biography on ABC Supply's Web site.

I have watched roofers and they make it seem soo easy, till I was cleaning my gutters and it is hard work. My one story house made my legs weak and I had to scoot on my a$$. Very sad story though, for the Holidays and just the memory and location awful.

I couldn't do roofing everyday. No freakin' way. I helped my Dad do our roof this summer when it was over 90 degrees outside. I was miserable. We had to tear off a layer of shingles and a layer of cedar shingles and then put down new OSB over the spread boards then shingles. We know what we're doing and it still took forever. To top it off our roof is 2 stories high and way steep, too steep to walk on. I was afraid of falling off and dying every second I was up there.

Also, I used to side new houses. There was a roofer that would frequently do the same houses we were working on. He worked by himself and would blast out a new roof in a day. Day and a half for hard roofs. He did a damn good job he made a hell of a lot of money doing it by himself. He didn't screw around when he showed up. He'd work non stop only taking a little 10 minute lunch break. One thing around here, if your willing to work your ass off doing roofing or siding there's real good money in it if you are working for yourself. Here's a pic of the roof once it was done.....

"I'd have to sell the company, and I'll sell the company over my dead body."
maybe he was just wanting to sell his business

it must be tough to negotiate when you're dead

it must be tough to negotiate when you're dead, but I guess keeping a poker face would be easy enough
