this is what we do. 8) Chaining up is not that bad. Usually it gets you over the summits out west then you are in rain again. We just use our best judgment of when to sit and when to chain up.

I'm right there with you. I have never put chains on and I'm never going too.

That's great if you don't want to chain up, Just DON'T go somewhere where you might need chains :lol:

This time of year there's always some IDIOTS that take loads to Alaska, and endanger countless lives because they don't have winter tires, and don't know how to throw a set on, so they just keep driving Waaay too slow (being careful) :roll: and SCREW everybody. We have small highways (see Lady's Sig) and if you don't know how to drive in the snow, the heavy haulers like me get stuck following you, and we can't get up the hills....

Can you imagine the frustration hauling 140,000 lbs. and getting slowed up by a baby load, and watching them drive up the hill as your working your azz off, using everything you've learned over 20 yrs. to (just) make the hill, and then catching up to them at the bottom of the next hill :evil:
