Interesting, what do you think?

EDIT

I think they need to find some new sponsors. Nothing like having a trucker website sponsored by ADULT SITES!!!!!!!!!

As I state on the website, it is not my intention to offend anyone with the links to the adult sites, but as I also make clear, the profits I make from the adult sites, and money I spend out of my own pocket as a full time OTR driver pay for the website

If in the future other websites or businesses offer to sponsor the site, and they do not want the links to the adult sites on there, I will remove the links to the adult sites. For now though, without the income from the adult sites, wouldn't exist.

I hope this helps in understanding why the links to the adult sites are necessary at this time, and I hope anyone that visits the site takes the time to offer their opinions about the trucking industry and other options about how to get America's Truck Drivers to join together and make the changes so many profesional drivers feel are needed before it's too late.

After all, the site is free for anyone to give their opinions, there's no fees of any kind, and you don't even have to register to join or post a comment. I'll even post the one about needing non-adult sponsors if you send it to me through the site.

Well sir, I as a Christian and a person who hates the negative image truckers already have, I can not nor will not support your site or recommend it to others. You are perpetuating the image problem by using porn advertisers. There are plenty of advertisers out there if you did a little work looking around, but you used the easiest means you could find. I hope the mods pull the link as the info there is totally inappropriate.

Well said GREG, I agree 100%.

Fill me in-I clicked on the site and didn't see any adult sites. Am I missing something?

Just click on some of his links to articles and you'll see banners on either side of the pages.

(EDITED)

Truck Drivers United 10-11-2007 10:51 PM

Yoopr, the banners mentioned are in the right hand border on all but the index page. Two of the eleven links for other sites that are either sponsor sites or affiliates are adult sites, and a third contains marital aids and adult products without the XXX galleries or hardcore graphics for individuals and couples looking for these items that don’t want to visit the typical adult site. The links for the adult sites are clearly marked as Adults Only.

Greg, the site (EDITED)does not contain any inappropriate material. In fact, I make it very clear that I will post almost anything on the site, but I will not post any comments that contain foul language or other inappropriate content.
As far as adult sites helping to pay the bills, I’m sure if a Christian Book store, the Ku Klux Klan, the Black Panthers, or a particular Presidential Candidate offered to sponsor the site and I put banners up for any of them, there would be controversy as well. Remember, some drivers are Atheists, some are Buddhists, and some are Muslims, and a link for a Christian Book store would offend them.
If drivers get hung up on personal issues, and we cannot accept the fact that all drivers are not going to share the same views or moral values, then it’s going to be hard to ever stand together.

Ask yourself this: If ten drivers did take a stand at a dock and refuse to do business with a particular shipper, would you refuse to stand with them simply because they don’t share the same Christian beliefs as you do, or because they don't support the same political candidate you do… or even because their skin is a different color than yours?

Judging others is far too easy for any number of petty reasons, including religious beliefs.

What’s important are the problems affecting the industry, not the fact sales from adult sites helps pay the bills.
