Is this Site a scam??

The site in question: http://www.tvfortruckers.com/

I'm investigating TV options for the truck, Antenna, Satellite and other options.

i came across this site but it looks VERY shady. What are your thoughts??

nickbtubas 09-02-2007 02:29 PM

Oh yeah, that site has spam written all over it.

I don't watch TV, so I have no opinion otherwise.

There are tons of programs like that all over the net, and they do work. They are great if you speak Bosnian or any other 3rd world languages. What you will get is 3000 channels and maybe a few of them will be English speaking channels. And if you spend some time looking around, most of those channels you can find free on the internet anyway without paying for that silly program.

I think your best bet would be a Slingbox. Personally i love mine and it works great. You will need cable or satelite at home and a home computer. What the slingbox does is sends the signal from your cable box out on to the internet so you can watch anywhere you have a internet connection. You can even change the channels from wherever you are. The downside, if there is anyone at home watching TV, you will need to be watching the same thing.

YES!!!! YES!!!!!

It's a scam, someone recommended one of those sites in the "Trucking product reviews for truckers by truckers" thread. So I tried it after giving them my Visa number for a years subscription (60.00 bucks I think?)

GARBAGE!!!

I agree with Sheepdancer.

Hey Craig, Is JB Hunt also contracting out their recruiters for infomercials or the shop at home network? Cause that sounds like you are trying to "sell" a slingbox?

I'm only joking with you, the "make a crack at sheepdancer" quota is kinda low today so just keeping it in check
