Holy crap - that thing cost enough?

The main problem is this - it's not designed for trucks. The routing is setup for four-wheelers and possibly RV's. You won't receive correct routing for a truck. There are only 2 gps products for trucks that I know of: CoPilot and TruckMiles CD. Even with those you have to be very careful. The routing may get you into a really bad situation.

As far as that particular gps receiver you posted - it is nice. However, I can do even more using my laptop, 7" touchscreen monitor, etc. And it cost less.

Well I can get that for about $900. The only reason ill get something like this is because it is a multi-media machine, it blends eveerything into one. Im not going cross country, ill stay in my home state which I know pretty well. I just need something to get me close. I know most of the roads I cant drive on, so if I see one on the route i will use my map and bypass it. Check this one out!! http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...070352,00.html

Hey man... I drive a truck for a living.... I can only afford 2D navigational system... I currenty own an MAP system.... :P :P :P LOL.... No I have a nice Garmin that only cost about $300.00 it does have a tendency to tell me to turn left off a cliff once in a while but I have a little thing called common sence to know that I shouldn't do that. It does have a truck setting that sometimes takes on truck routes (most of the time not) . it's all a matter of common sence.

You are not going to leave your home state yet you feel the need to spend $900 for a navagation system? I could think of a few millions things I'd rather spend my money on. Sounds like you are just looking for a toy to buy.

Well like I said it has everything I'd want in a receiver. But to tell the the truth its a possibilty that I might travel to surrounding states. Either way I think I will put it to good use. :)
