The Senate sold us down the river today
Even with 70% to 80% of the American people opposing the Immigration amnesty bill, the Senate voted to ram it down our throats anyway. At this point there is very little hope that it won't become law. Just another nail in the coffin for the USA IMO.
|
I almost think USA is already dead.

Politicians out of touch with the people? Say it isn't so! Nothing like rewarding criminals. What a message that sends to the millions that aren't here yet.

Well I for one wrote to my two that rep. me in the senate. When I find out how they voted on this ( you can see how each one voted ) and if they voted YES, then I will vote NO for them in the next election. I can fore-see some changes because of this.

Jefferson once wrote " The tree of liberty must occasionally be watered by the blood of tyrants and patriots." I wonder if maybe we have reached one of those occasions?

It's not over yet-still hanging on by a thread

Well I have that list of how each member of the Senate voted yesterday:
http://www.numbersusa.com/hottopic/s...ction0507.html My two voted no this time around but I will keep writting letters ( e-mails ) and watching how they vote for the final bill. Look at the list and if yours voted for going foward with this bill PLEASE google their web site and send them a message. Just for the record: The two from Ga. ( my two ) were two of the main players in getting this bill started in the frist place. When the people of Ga. found what was contained in the bill their offices were flooded with angry calls, e-mail and snail mail and they both have voted against the bill two times now. So YES, you can still have a say in this. Don't wait to let your thoughts on this be known to those who represent you. If you have time to come to this board and post a message, you have time to send a message to those who represent you in Washington. |
Why can't the American public march on Washington and throw all our officials out of office and start over from scratch?? They are a joke anymore and is why I have not voted since 2002. They all say the same stuff about what they will do and then don't do it or go the other way on it.

Then it's time to do that, send them all to Mexico City for 5 years and see what they think then.

One of mine voted yes and one no, I guess that make my voting easy. |
Sure lets march,...and then the homeland security act can label us as terrorists.
|
Of course, that way they will be busy while the real terrorists are coming in without a second look.

Whew.... that was close!!!
But thank goodness they've killed the bill! |
reason why we have the greatest country on earth. The people jammed the phone lines in D.C with their displeasure on this bill and the Senate listened.
|
Well, for the most part they listened. Needed a unanimous "NO" for it to truly show they listened.
|
Bill was defeated-they listened
|
Glad to see my 2 changed their tune. They both voted yes previously though the one, Jim Webb, wanted a slightly different version of the bill. He got his different version, no bill at all.
|
The bill was defeated....now what do we do with the 12 million or so Illegals now? Does the bill being defeated really changes anything? Does this mean that they will start chasing these illegals down, and taking them back?
And will someone tell me what is wrong with a fried peanutbutter and banana sandwich? (all this bill talk got me hungry)   |
We should celebrate the defeat of the immigration bill....However, the immigration bill (in part or in whole) will be reintroduced next year (if not sooner)...count on it. This issue will not be going away.
Here's an interesting article on unions divided over the bill. |
This is a great morning in America! 40 Million illegal Mexicans have been denied amnesty. Now if we can just get them to go back to Mexico and fight for their own economic prosperity IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY!
|
A lot of these "Mexicans" are not actually from Mexico. They are from Honduras, Gautamala, Ecuador, etc. Latin American countries from below Mexico. It is crazy that they make it thru Mexico since they will shoot these illegals on sight there. Yet Mexico and President Fox call us the bad guys for wanting them out of our country. They freakin shoot them where they stand if they catch'em.
