Democratic Debate

The Democratic hopefuls are having a debate right now, being aired on CNN. I guess there's an exclusivity to this or something, cuz FOXNews is showing news reruns from earlier in the day.

If this is NOT an editorial decision, but rather one of "contracts," I apologize for what I'm thinking. But, it seems that this should be on ALL newschannels at this moment.

I notice it is not on any of the Networks either, so I guess it's an exclusive party. But, I think this is a disservice to all Americans.

In any case.... I invite all my Conservative or Republican FRIENDS to check it out. You just might, at least, get their positions from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

Democrats- Make 100 days look like 100 years! I hate politics. Both parties are hacks. They make tons of false promises to get elected and then do NOTHING in office but screw us. The Republicans are going to use that "first hundred days" promise by the dems real heavily in the presidential campaigns. It might just work too.

Honestly, I tune most this garbage out. This election is over a year away. 3/4 of these candidates won't even be in the running by then. Both of these parties are so out of tune from main stream working Americans, that it's not even funny.

golfhobo 06-03-2007 05:54 PM

Can't argue with what you've said, Gregg! But, thanks for the reply.

It's just that in a year or so, ONE of these candidates... or one of the Republicans.... will be in office, and I just like to have SOME idea of what lies their gonna be telling us!

greg3564 06-03-2007 06:08 PM

I hear ya! It will be interesting to see what happens when Fred Thompson officially joins the race. Lot's of comparisons to Reagan, but we'll have to see about that. I was watching Hardball on MSNBC the other night and the democrat stategist stated that if Thompson were the republican candidate the dems would lose. Interesting. I'm conservative so I always vote republican, only because the dem presidential candidates swing too far to the left. That being said, Bush has been such a major disappointment. From his "immigration reform" to the Iraq war, what a lying pos. Again, just once I would like to see a politician who does what see says he will. But not likely to happen anytime soon.

Thanks, but I prefer to get the Talking Points from Rush and Hannity before I know what to think.

I agree about Thompson, but I saw him today on the tube, and he needs to dye his hair or something, to regain the "look" he had in his latest movies! Seriously.... so much of politics is how good one looks on the tube!

I LIKED Reagan. I might have voted for him if I'd been in a voting mood back then. People on here think I'm some kind of flaming Liberal, but I'm really a "centrist."

I might actually vote for Thompson. I don't know yet. Like you, I just want someone who won't lie to me, and tell me what they THINK I want to hear!

My favorite line from Red October is his.... "this thing is gonna get outta hand! It's gonna get outta hand, and we'll be lucky to live through it!"

Kinda sums up the way I feel about the war in Iraq!

In todays almost equally divided America, I think our Executive branch should be equally divided. That is, I would like to see the loser of the Presidential Election be designated as the Vice President. Who knows, it might work! What we've BEEN doing isn't really working!

Nice talking with ya, Greg. Thanks again for the effort. People like you restore my faith in Americans. And keep me from buying a gun!

That figures, Terry!

You know what? I'm starting to think I need to hear their "spin" also, before I can be sure what to believe.

Of course, I use their T/P's as the antithesis of reality.

Hey, when you do decide to buy that gun, I will sell it to you. Strictly legal, though. :D

Well, of course, as you've heard... I need to buy a new computer and some ipods and stuff first.... BUT, if I were in the market.... what would you suggest?

I only need it for killing defenseless but pesky wabbits and self protection, of course!

Can I get something in a full auto and six extra big clips (or Mags?)

Do I have to register it under my REAL name? Or can I use Golf and Hobo like I did HERE?

Fozzy 06-03-2007 11:46 PM

Democratic Debate?

ZZZZZZz-ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ-ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ-ZZZZZZZZ~~~

Roadhog 06-04-2007 12:11 AM

Can I put in my 2 cents? ....awwah...:D

Buy a 12 gauge Pump. General purpose Street Sweeper/ Roadsign Killer. You'll love the jack action loading. Too cool. Great for close action, or Home defense.
...or if you are feeling romantic...12 gauge Double Barrel Stage Coach....and give'em both barrels!

Don't buy a iPod-mini....everyone knows thats for girls.

Get a HP business class laptop with XP Pro. I suggest that one...because it will make me feel smarter about my choice.

On voting...wait until the last minute to decide, and vote opposite whomever you hate most. It's really only about damage control.

golfhobo 06-04-2007 05:36 AM

Thanks, Hoggie! I've been REALLY concerned lately about the number and possibility of attacks by Roadsigns!!!

A bit of advice golfhobo, don't underestimate the roadsign.

I agree completely. Sometimes I even feel like joining the "Impeach Bush" movement. The ONLY issue that he has remained consistent on is abortion. The Democrats have been hijacked by the left wing extremists and the Republicans are in bed with big business. Nobody is looking out for the average American. If you are gay or own a business you have plenty of "friends". If your like most of us, just trying to get by, you have nobody.

golfhobo 06-06-2007 05:56 AM

Dang! I didn't think I'd be home this long between runs, and I completely forgot that CNN was hosting the Republican candidates' debate last night! I really wanted to see that. (Because I like to view multiple sources of information.)

I guess I could try to catch it on youtube.... naw, why bother. CNN will re-run it, and show clips and analysis all day. Plus, I have my sat radio.

I did see a few clips a moment ago. Hmmm.... sure sounded like a softer, gentler version of "cut and run" to ME!

EVERYONE (almost) wants out of this war! The only question is how soon, how easily, and how PERIOD!

Did anyone else watch the debate? Any comments?

Roadhog 06-06-2007 06:50 AM

 Man...you really missed the action!

Hordes of Republicans dog paddling away from the current administration.
Funniest part is their ship sunk long ago.

golfhobo 06-06-2007 08:35 AM

yeah, I miss all the fun! I've seen most of the clips of each candidate's response on the WAR question. I believe, but don't expect, that this should put an end to the "cut and run" moniker placed on the Dems!

Never let it be said that the GOP can't read the POLLS!!!

But, I really would have liked to see their responses to other issuses.

I can't help but thinking that the Dems are the ones willing to do the "hard things," becoming the whipping boy in the process!

Only a Dem will tell you that Dubya has bankrupt our government, and the only way out is to raise taxes... starting with rolling back the tax credits for the very rich! The bill has come DUE, folks! Someone's gotta pay it!

Only the Dems will tell you that this war is (if not lost) at least NOT going the way it was advertised, and we need to get out of there!

Getting out of Iraq does NOT mean giving up, or losing the war on terrorism! There are BETTER ways to fight it!

If we were running a budget surplus the democrats would still want to raise our taxes. It's in their blood, they can't resist it. Sure, they will use the deficit as an excuse but that's all it is, an excuse.

golfhobo 06-06-2007 09:36 AM

WE HAD a surplus!!! Karnajj!!!

It's the WAR!! Don't you get it?? Somebody's gotta pay for this WAR!!!

It's criminal to slash taxes for the rich, while raiding Social Security to pay for this war. Then, of course, the next administration, which I believe he KNEW would be Democrat, would HAVE to raise taxes to pay for his WAR!!!

I'm outta here for a week! Geez.....!!!!

Mack2 06-06-2007 10:02 AM

Golfhobo if you need a gun for roadsign killing I must recomend the .30-.30 that gun is awsome and it has a heck of a punch.

But a Remington a 1100 would be my next choice.

It wasn't just the rich who got a tax cut, I got a pretty nice one myself and I am far from rich. The rich got a bigger tax cut because the pay far more taxes than I do. And don't even try that old song and dance routine about Bush "raiding social security". That's all the dems ever did in the decades that they had control of congress. I'm sure glad you and your type were not around during WWII. We never would have fought it because you would be bitching about budget deficits. Every war this country has fought has been fought with borrowed money. Why should this one be any different? You know and I know that if this had been Bill Clinton's war you wouldn't have a problem with it.

Part Time Dweller 06-06-2007 03:12 PM

Speaking of party line

Someone using that Tax cut for the wealthy logic would complain about a 20% off sale where they only got $40 off spending $200 and the rich guy got $400 off spending $2000.

It's not fair, the rich guy got a bigger discount than me!!!

I could give this so called tax cut for the wealthy thing a little more credence if the ones on the left whining about it didn't take advantage of it themselves.

Also, no one has to take any deductions when they file their taxes, so if the elitist left is so worried about how little the wealthy pay in taxes, they should set the example and take no deductions whatsoever.

This is along the same lines as Edwards telling us how we all need to conserve, yet he is building a 28,000 sq ft mansion for he and his wife. Ok, you go first.

Rockjockey 06-06-2007 03:24 PM

Amazing how the Dems cannot see how tax cuts help the economy, even in wartime. It's also amazing how they don't realize that the rich people's investments keep this country going. If Bill Gates closed shop, how many people would be out of work? Why should he have to pay oppresive taxes when he is already supporting thousands of people by virtue of his business?

The Government has NO business having a SURPLUS! (even if it was a complete fabrication built with smoke and mirrors!)

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...image01111.gif

Part Time Dweller 06-06-2007 03:33 PM

Wasn't that a projected surplus? Just like the Dem's projected Kerry would win in '04
