Parkable Scale?

My hubby is wanting to know if the scale at mile marker 41 off Eastbound I-20 going into GA has parking places for overnight...

Anybody know?

Yes, they do. Also, parking is usually available at the Alabama/Ga rest stop on I-20

You might want to pick him up a copy of the "Pocket Truck Stop Guide" at a truck stop. It has all that information and more.

Another source is "Explore The Next Exit", but it will only show information about interstates.

He has that, and the next exit, neither list whether scales are parkable at :) Thanks though.

The Pocket Truckstop Guide is the best - I do wish it'd list rest areas and parkable scales in it as well.

I'm with Aligator. Seems like I remember seeing parking at the Georgia coop. Come to think of it, I dont remember if I went through the scale, or not.

There is definitely parking for "solar powered" truckers at the GA scale on I-20! I see them there everytime I blow by the scale with my PrePass!

WHY anyone would want to park there, when they could have stopped a mere 20 miles sooner at the pilot with fast food, showers, and other businesses, I'll NEVER understand! I guess they just LOVE D.O.T. officers knocking on their door in the morning!?

I guess SOME drivers think their logbook/clock rules their lives! Personally, I'd stop wherever I wanted to (within a reasonable radius of that scale,) where there was something to do, and softer toilet paper, and CALL it what I want it to be!

I like a good STEAK when I shut down at night, and maybe even a beer or two! I don't see that being offered at a weigh station! Some only have "porta-johns."

I KNOW it isn't true, but when I see a few trucks shut down at a weigh station, I can't help but assume they have been put "out of service" for trying to run too far!

The only OTHER reason I can come up with is, they're one of the "Wusses" on here who constantly complain about trucks idling in a truckstop!

Ha! Probably the SAME idiots who complain about not getting enough miles, hometime, etc. Sounds like poor trip planning to ME!
