Storage in the Peterbilt 379

I'm a TMC Company Driver, I have a `2006 Peterbilt 379. I am looking for some storage options for the storage areas on either side of the sleeper. Idealy, I would like to put in two cabinet that have drawers or even shelves if there is some way to prevent items from falling out. How are you storing your cloths and other items in the 379?

Wrong again, I need the storage for my Rush Limbaugh iPods. Three hours per day adds up really quick!

Well.... then..... why didn't you SAY you were looking for help from another Conservative???

I don't know what an Ipod IS.... and I've never HEARD of Russki Limburger!!!

Besides, I drive a Freightshaker, and they've allready figured out that little problem!

I used to drive a 359, when I was hauling grain. I had those long clear storage containers. The ones with the lids on top that snapped at the ends. I got them at Wal-Mart. I used to slide them under the bed. My buddy that has a 379, his driver uses the top bunk for his extra stuff.

Which sleeper?

I converted the cloths closet in mine. I never hang cloths up anyway. I made a shelf up about 16" off the floor. On top of that I have a nice little wooden drawer cabinet, with the slide-out table-top. You can buy these cabinets at the Peterbilt Dealership. On top of the wooden cabinet, I have my 12v cooler. On the other side I have three wooden shelves I made. That is where I store my laptop, briefcase, and all my cloths. My cloths are all folded up and stowed on the shelves. I used wafer-board with the rough finish...so stuff stays put...and not slide around.

Stop at the Peterbilt Store near you and check out the rigs on the lot for all the ideas, and if you see something you like..chances are you can buy it from them, make it yourself, or order it from them.

The new 389 has the BEST storage and layout of them all. You gotta check it out. They have over-head bunk storage cabinets I'm sure one could buy and retrofit an older 379.
