angry Zumstein driver

This kind of crap always happens when I'm off duty. My girl and I are driving in her Yukon saturday night on 80E 22M in PA. Roads are bad, heavy freezing rain. We come up behind a minivan going 60 in the slow lane and wait for it to get over. Truck comes up behind us, rides our bumper literally 4 feet away, turns on high beams and blows air horn. We get out of the way. Zumstein truck #1093 passes and does same thing to minivan.

Minivan was not exactly in the right, but if you drive like that often enough, you are going to end up in a ditch. Driver of truck #1093 didn't know that I know his boss, Ed. He'll find out soon enough, I made a call today. Put me in danger it's one thing, do the same when my loved ones are in the car and we have a problem.

For the LOVE OF GOD please don't drive like this. I can't count the number of big rigs in ditches I've seen on 80 in PA in the last month. It's like a free for all here.

Well i hope your phone call does something but most likely it wont.

I know I made a few calls to my last company about drivers that were not driving the right way for the company. It helps when you are a friend to both the CEO and the Personal Manager of the place needless to say those drivers were looking for a new job the next day. Sorry when you put my life in danger I will drop a dime on you real fast and turn you in.

Word to ironeagle, I mean I know we have to stick together here, but this is half the reason we have a bad name. I hope if any of our drivers did that someone would call.

Unfortunately, there are "professonal" truck drivers out there, that drive like that. Sorry for what you experienced.

I see this kind of behavior all too often myself out there. Trucker's treat other Trucker's much the same way...only without the obvious intimidation factor.

Lately too...I am seeing guy's urinate beside their trucks...when they are in easy walking distance of a restroom. Seriously...every day I witness some disgusting behavior of one kind or another. Some days it's borderline insanity....what goes on. The behavior you hear on the CB is now in the streets too.

It's all a very, very simple matter of choice to NOT behave this way.
We are becoming a 3rd world Nation in every sense. I hope I don't live to see the bottom.

I was hoping it was the same driver...

And if they fired those drivers based on just your word then they were fools. Who the hell are you anyway? Just another truck driver that's all.

Maybe its this morons third or forth call in? Maybe they had a company exect out there, maybe they were watching the engine data or had Vorad. These angry drivers are usually the biggest cry babies.

Considering I was a finshing trainer with them also NEVER had any of these a late load logbook voilation speeding ticket or an OOS voilation. At the last company I drove for the trucks started off governed out at 65 if you kept your nose clean on logs and kept your fuel mileage up your speed was increased. When I had to retire mine was at 76 which meant I could run the speed limit in the western states. I flunked 80% of my trainees because they could not handle the pressure of being a OTR driver.

I was not looking for steering wheel holders I was looking for PROFESSINAL drivers and the ones that did make it out of my truck as trainees all of them within one year were 1st seat drivers normally at the company it took 2 years to get there.
