Divination?

This is a question that I thought of, concerning Divination of diffrent forms.

Knowing what the Bible say's of divination and the practice of-- is prohibited. The Why are the Apostle's able to cast lots?

The reason of this discussion, was because I had a debate with a co-worker on Tarro cards. Now this person was for them, I was against them. "Knowing what they are, because of past exp". But if this person was against them, then just for debate I would have been for them. "I was in the mood"

So What do y'all think?

Divination Yes or No--and a thought or 2!

Hi! Slim. Good to see you again! Okay, I'll bite.... but you'll have to help me out just a bit with the background. Remember that I don't study all these peripheral details of religion the way you do!

Give me a verse or two (and reference) about what the Bible says about the practice of it. What "IT" exactly do you mean? And I swear I don't remember anything about the Apostles casting lots!

Hey Hobo, Let's see if I can sink this Hook!

First I will start with the Apostles casting Lots. This is found in ACTS!

Acts 1:21-26
21 “Therefore, of these men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, 22 beginning from the baptism of John to that day when He was taken up from us, one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection.”
23 And they proposed two: Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. 24 And they prayed and said, “You, O Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which of these two You have chosen 25 to take part in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.” 26 And they cast their lots, and the lot fell on Matthias. And he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

Now Old Testament IMOP Declare's Divination as Witch Craft!

Leviticus 19:26
‘You shall not eat anything with the blood, nor shall you practice divination or soothsaying.

Deuteronomy 18:9-14
9 “When you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. 12 For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD, and because of these abominations the LORD your God drives them out from before you. 13 You shall be blameless before the LORD your God. 14 For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the LORD your God has not appointed such for you.

This is just a couple, and others are a little longer, in order to be put in context!

So Divination, according to Old Law, is bad, But clearly the Apostle, even though under the New Covenant practice this act, and apparently with the blessing of God.
My question besides the above, is why?

I can quit well, if it is a subject that I am clear on and have experienced, and this just happened to be one of them. Not to mention I was just in the mood for a good argument, but this person didn't have the back ground to stand, more of a dabbler!

 But considering my past record here, I can defanantly, see the Comedy in it

Oh thanks for fixin the spelling of Tarot, I didn't see the use of puting the extra "T" because it is silent. Just a wast of a good T.

Divination, To be able to predict the futur, by Fire scrying, mirror gazing, Tarot Reading, tea leaf reading, crystal ball scrying, Necromacy "asking the dead", etc.

The subject is-- If it is against the principals of the Law, why where the Apostle's able to do it, and with God's Blessing?

I tried learning to read Tarrot Cards, tried Tea Leaf Reading, took up Crystal Ball Gazing, and studied Astrology.
Gave it up though; I just couldn't see any future in it!!

So Fozzy you see no right or wrong in this?
I can accept that, but for the sake of argument, and I know you can
What do you think, knowing what you know, about biblical principals concerning this topic?
Also does your belief allow such activity?
