Which engine is better?

Which engine is better the Cummings ISX, Volvo VED12, Cat C15? Which one is the best and which one second best? and why? Don't like Detroit's I don't know why just don't.

Thanks

Trucks with C15's look pretty on the side of the road with the hood up.

When I was in the parts department we sold alot of EGR valves. I think they got that problem resolved. However I have no experience with the other guys to compare.

I now work in the manufacturing end of things as a buyer. I do the high HP projects. Usually QSK50's used in frac rigs and drilling rigs and 38's and 23 liter engines used in mud pumps and power units. All of it off-road. Sorry....

Cummings or cummins? 8)

I rate them-

1-cat
2- cummins (close 2nd)
3-detroit (distant 3rd)

I run a Cummins ISX and its pretty decent. Dad's new truck has a Cat C15 and it puts out as much tq (per manual) and is rated 50 hp less. Since its spanking new, i can't comment too much about the differences yet 8)

No problem. Don't mind my remark about Cummins. Its like saying "pomyac" instead of Pontiac lol.

I don't have any info on the Volvo engine.

The detroits can pull hills well. The cummins has fewer moving parts than the cat. And detroits tend to go through camshafts.

well, I'll tell ya, Cat had a full time employee at beaver coaches because they seemed to have a lot of problems. I liken then to harleys, a big name, but I've seen more then one of each along the side of the road....

It really comes down to preference, like GM vs ford trucks. :? 8)
