Drivers Daily Log Program/response to paperless logs

Below is the links to 1) See if your log format is listed. 2) See if your company accepts them.

This program helps many drivers on their HOS and it helps Owner Operators keep track of expenses.

DOT allows you to use this program and usually during an audit they are very impressed since they can actually read the logs. Your log auditor loves them, because they are nice and NEAT

If your company doesn't accept them, talk with them and keep pushing them to allow it and have them contact DDL to see the process in how to get your company name listed!
If your company accepts them and DDL doesn't have your print module; have the company call DDL and discuss if it is possible to get the print module for your company.

I didn't continue this in the paperless thread due to the "normal" bickering

Print modules that are listed: Most log sheets have a number on them. Look for your number: You still need to see if your company will accept them

Companys that accept DDL

3. Over 300 Motor Carriers are using iTruck to audit their drivers. All will accept DDL print logs.

Good luck and no I don't get anything for this, I only let you know it is available to help you as a driver out! Or log auditors who might want the program to audit logs. Good luck, I know a little about the program, if you have questions (detailed) I suggest you e-mail them and ask! I just let drivers know it is out there for you!

The main reason a company will not accept the DDL sheets is because of the type of scanner they use. They are unable to scan that size of paper.

Keep in mind though. If you use DDL you will need to have a printer with you on the truck.

I had an inspection a few weeks ago in Maryland during one of their training sessions. I literally had about 15 DOT officers/trainees that were simply amazed with my logs from DDL. They initially only asked for the 7 day logs, but then asked if I could bring the laptop in so they could see what the capabilities of the program are.

They loved it, plain and simple, especially the Audit section of the program.

After reading the "offending" thread, it was quite clear that the bickering started at the tips of your fingers, Dawn.

I've used DDL for years now. It used to be a "FREE DOWNLOAD" for drivers. That was back with the old 8-10-15 HOS. Then Nick found out that companies were using it to audit drivers logs, Florida was using it as a training aid for DOT officers, and others. He decided to make money off of them and started charging a registration fee with the new HOS. But, because it's still basically for drivers, it's still very reasonable. I've seen other loging programs that were far less involved that cost almost $400. I worked in the electric motor industry for years and some of the specialized software there does far less, but costs almost $2,000. Compared to that, it's VERY REASONABLE. VERY WELL WORTH THE MONEY.

Amusing story, My son got pulled over last night at the 618 in Texas on I-10. One of those spot/training jobs.
Besides getting a warning about some bogus license plate bulb being out, (it was not), the dot said he should have a "Paper Log book" ??
They where totally baffled by his DDL program? Like he was the only one using it??
