Pet Peeves II
We all know the 'normal' pet peeves (dispatchers, slow trucks, etc) - here's a few more to throw into the mix:
1) (This one is for the guys) Urinals in the mens rooms with no dividers between them, or worse yet, the 'horse trough'. I really don't want to know what the guy beside me is doing... 2) Drivers that 'create' their own parking spot, only to end up blocking other trucks from being able to get into/out of the location. 3) Drivers that park for the night and leave their headlights on (parking/chicken lights are fine) 4) Cassanova's at the register trying to pick up the cashier. Hey, if you wanna make your move with her, fine. Just step aside and let the people pay for their stuff, then step back over and do your best with her, because I really don't wanna listen to it when I've got things to do. I had a few more in mind, but before I could get them posted, my computer crashed and this is the first chance I could get to post them. What are your other pet peeves? |
I know what you meen, I especialy hate trucks that are dubble or tripple parked. another pet peave for me are those that pull nose first in a space they could have backed into. I never park next to them. Have a fear they will take the hood of my truck off while I'm sleeping, not to mention I've seen to many close incounters while they are backing up (Not refering to those Idle Air spaces as they are designd for pulling into). I probably have 1000 other little ones but those are 2 that come to mind.

Mine are kids, newbies and SWIFT drivers, they are really the same thing...lol...lol

Drivers who think they have to use their jake brakes all the time, even in truck stops and in town,
Drivers who run through truck stops at a high rate of speed Drivers who run through truck stops without thier headlights on at night. Poorly adjusted headlights. tailgaters customers who think it is OK to reschedule delieveries 5 minutes before you get there. |
Remembered another:
in poor weather, when you really do need to know what's going on ahead of you, the people who decide to use the cb to test out their new sound effects (or impressions) over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over... Sure, it's bad enough when you're in good weather, but at least then I can turn off the radio and not worry as much about a 50 car pile up at the bottom of the next hill and not being prepared to stop for it. |

If you turn your cruise control switch on, it will disengage the engine brake unless you hit the foot brake. You don't have to set the cruise, just turn in on. You can still control your speed with the foot pedal.

Not on my truck, unfortunately... My cruise switch is pretty much left on all the time. I talked to the mechanic at the shop, he said he tried to find the setting in the computer to change it to the 'brake' engage, but couldn't find it. Myself, I don't even think he looked, but oh well. |
