Election 2008

Allright, I don't know if there is another thread on this subject. I could not see one. If there is, mods can delete this.

So far, I think there are three canditates on the list from the democrats:

- Hillary
- Obama
- Edwards

is that it? is there someone else? who do the republicans have so far?

What are your thoughts on these people? what are your hopes for 2008?

Here's a list of who I do not want to see on the list!

- Sharpton
- Gore
- Oprah

am I missing someone?

I think the "lesser" of the evils you listed would be Obama

It would not suprise me if when it is all said and done the ballot sees Obama and Clinton on the ticket as Prez/Vp. Now who is who is going to be the interesting question.

HorsePower 01-10-2007 04:46 PM

Obama/Clinton would be an interesting combination

still, I heard no real answers YET. Only blame towards the republicans, and the rest is just blah stuff.

I have not heard any of them, Edwards neither, offer any SOLID solutions yet.

we'll have to wait and see.

I love debates. I will be looking forward to 2008 debates

From the democratic side, I could see Clinton/Obama. Bill Clinton could screw things up with his tawdry escapades, though.

As for the Republicans, perhaps McCain and Giuliani, unless the GOP stays hard right. I think that Condi Rice has shot herself in the foot with Iraq.

As someone who voted for Bush43 twice for Governor, and once for President, I think that both he and The Republican party deserve quite a bit of blame!!

So true! Iraq, I bet if Bush could go back and do it over again he wouldn't. Nah, he would! :D I'm a staunch conservative who has never voted democrat. Not sure I ever could, so I hope that the republicans can muster up a good candidate. I read that Rudy G. might run as an independent, which will have the Ross Perot effect. I hope he stays with the republicans and gets paired up with a strong running mate. i think BOTH parties will have to go with moderate candidates to have a chance at winning on 2008. I don't see Clinton as a moderate. Her views and voting record swings pretty wide to the left in my opinion.

I hate Presidential elections! :x :D

I also voted for Bush. I am not sorry I did. I still believe he was the better choice at the time.

Still, I don't like this war thing, and last night he addressed the nation, saying we "need more troops in Iraq"

I thought we were trying to bring them home, and let the Middle East kinda take care of itself.

I agree: the Republicans kinda shot themselves with the war.

.

We should NOT be sacrificing American lives for ANY reason over there, we should solve the problem in one, great instantaneous flash of power!

Problem solved!!!

Iraq and Iran in one stroke! Iran wants nukes so badly, we should send them over a dozen or so....AIRMAIL..... special delivery!!! It might change their minds (and give ole Kim Jong Idiot some food for thought as well).

Unfortunately, in this day and age of media managed politicians we will never get anyone with intestinal fortitude in the (formerly) hallowed halls where Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln et al hallowed them by their mere presence.

The current crop of political hacks are too overly concerned with their personal aggrandisement (and buggering of little boys, and stealing with both fists and ad infinitum...) to bother to acquire an intellect, an opinion or backbone beyond what their so-called "handlers" think will give them a 0.001% advantage in the next AP/CBS/Cosmopolitan/Time/Gaming World poll.

I fear we will never again see men (or women) of the calibre of the giants who founded this great nation and nutured it for so long.

Oh well...of the soapbox......Republican>McCain Democrat>Osama
they are both mediocre and bland enough to avoid offending enough of the ignorant electorate, play to the proper power brokers and cow tow to the special interests to ensure another decade of meaningless drivel and rule by bureauracy. As to which of those two would win...it will be whoever is the better "ass kisser"!
