Odd Posting times.
 

You may notice me on here at odd times for a local driver and the reason why is because about a 2 weeks ago I was loading a backhoe on my lowboy and when I was getting out of the backhoe I slipped and fell and broke my left ankle so I'm sitting here at home with nothing to do.

Feel sorry for you mate, but its part and parcel of low loader work eh?
I,ve had finger tips ripped off, holes punched into my legs, nearly lost an eye etc.
All good fun on heavy haul :wink:

Ever had to load a asphalt roller onto a beaver-tail trailer while it was raining? Now *THAT* was fun (*NOT*)...

Sorta and it is oh so joyful. Wasn't an asphalt roller, was a Curbmachine with it's pretty steel tracks that love to slip and slide on anything that is wet.

Know what your feeling NascarFan, I fell thru my trailer one day while directing the operator of a piece on equipment onto my trailer. Board snapped as I backed up onto it and down I went. Left a nice cut from my ankle to my groin, a softball sized bruise on my hip and a nice knot on my head from where it slapped back against the deck when I came to a stop.

This here is what I fell off of and it hurt allot plus there was nobody else on the job so I had to hobble back up to the truck and get the radio since my cell broke when I fell so I could tell them I thought I needed a ambulance.

Ahhhhh........ THe "old three-point contact" when climbing up or down. Never let go with both hands at the same time. Or did you step back to admire it?

Sorry to hear about it. Mine was a load of lumber with the plastic cover on it, and about half an inch of wet snow on it. I didn't break anything, but I also didn't walk well for a few days. Hope you mend well, and soon.

No, but i have loaded a five axle coal tender weighing 65tonne over the back bridge of a goldhofer trailer, so it was coming downhill and all i had to slow it down till it levelled off, were wooden chocks and good fortune :lol:

That ain't no backhoe, that's a Trackhoe/Excavator.

What happend is when I was getting out of it there was mud on the tracks and when my foot hit that down I went.

Mr.Ford95 I know its excavator I just couldn't rember how to spellit at the time. :oops:

Dose anybody know when my ankel heels how long it will be befor I can push a clutch.
