Retractable Mike keepers

For those of you that have one of those retractable CB Mike keepers how do you have it attached to the truck? The directions say to screw it into the headliner molding but I am reluctant to do that. Currently I have mine clipped to the cargo netting of the overhead compartment but this is less than satisfactory. Any ideas? thanks

I took a small bungee and hooked both ends to the sunvisor bracket then clipped the mic keeper to the bungee.

In my Century, I used one of the screws that hold the CB cover faceplate thing on. if you mount it right, the speaker grill will still fit...but in the Volvo I am running now, there is a molded mic hanger, I just clip it there...In the century, it did a good job of keeping it out of the way and still very accessable...in the Volvo it sits the mic a bit close, but not so bad it bothers me while driving...

In my Century, I have it hanging down under the cargo netting, and its attached to a bracket in the overhead compartment, been working fine.

I took a coat hanger, and I cut each end of the top corners. Un-twisted the twisted part right below the hook, and then I got my pliers, and wrapped the twisted part around the thingamajig on the back of the mic. Wah-Lah. Our trucks have full hook ups for our radios, and we have velcro that holds our radios in place in that square hole. I hook my mic where the velcro loops through the loop on the left side of the radio.

Karnajj,I have seen trucks where the guy pulled off one of those round button thingamahoppers in the headliner, and then screwed the little loop doohicky that your mic keeper hook clips to,to the headliner.
