Shaver is the best... country as it should be... and his late son Eddie was a hell of a picker (thats him on "Georgia on a Fast Train") Most of the tunes Waylon did were written by Shaver. That whole album is good (Tramp on your Street).

I dont know Tinsley Ellis by the name... might have heard his stuff before though. I'm checkin him out on Google now. Thanks roadhog... I love hearing new stuff.

 Wow! Someone who has heard of Pride and Glory... I'm not into hard metal much (of course this is more like "southern metal") but I do like just about everything from Zakk Wylde. I seen Black Label Society in Nashville once... pretty damned loud!

I do listen to stuff like Satriani (I have "The Extremist") on the rare occasion though (roadhog would be proud!).

Well as I look down at the idiot in the 4 wheeler - the song "Stain" by "Bothers Cane" comes to mind.

How about being caught on Black Ice while listening to Van Halens' "Out of Control"?

...Maybe "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns and Roses, driving through LA, NYC, Chicago or Detroit?

On a long and lonesome highway, east of omaha.
You can listen to the engine moaning out its one lone song
You can think about woman, or the girl you knew the night before,
But your thoughts will soon be wandering, the way they always do.
When your riding sixteen hours and theres nothing much to do
And you dont feel much like riding, you just wish the trip was through.
Say, here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage.
Here I go, playing star again.
There I go, turn the page.
Well you walk into a restaurant, strung out from the road,
You can feel the eyes upon you as your shaking off the cold
You pretend it doesnt bother you, but you just want to explode.
Most times you cant hear em talk, other times you can.
Oh the same old cliche, as that woman on her a man
You always see my number, you dont dare make a stand.
Here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage.
Here I go, playing star again.
There I go, turn the page.
Out there in the spotlight your a million miles away,
Every ounce of energy, you try and give away,
As the sweat pours out your body like the music that you play.
Later in the evening as you lie awake in bed,
With the echo from the amplifiers ringing in your head,
You smoke the days last cigarette, remembering what she said.
Now here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage.
Here I go, playing star again.
There I go, turn the page.
Here I am, on the road again. there I am, up on the stage.
Ah here I go, playing star again.
There I go, there I go.

Kenny Chesney

Freedom

People always tell me their life sotry
Love they lost, their taste of glory
He sat next to me at the counter in the diner
Said i used to be wall street but this is much finer

oh yea

He had a leather look on a steal horse harley
A dark eyed girlfriend he called charlie
He looked a little lost walking out the door
I think i knew what he was looking for

Freedom, sweet Freedom

I gased her up climbed back in my cab
To my wife im a husband, to my kids im a dad
To the credit card companies im just another sucker
To the IRS a long hall trucker
Oh

Some say that freedoms the power do one pleases
You can live like the devil or hold on to jesus
I found the one thing i was born to do
Girl thats why im running back to you

Freedom, sweet freedom

Oooh,
He climbed up in my truck with his green duffelbag
I knew he was a soldier cause i saw his dog tags
We talked about it
We cried about it
Then a steel horse harley came roaring on past
I knew it was charlie hannging on real fast
We talked about it
We laughed about it

Through the joy and pain that living brings
Dont we all want the same thing

Freedom, sweet freedom
Oh
oooohhhh yea

Its what the junkie needs that the needle cant give
depressed and forgotten are praying for it
Its what the brave and corrageous are fighting for
An open sail on a distant shore

Freedom
