My favorite is Brad Paisley ... mostly because he can spank a guitar, but he's the real deal in western.

The country your looking for mitch, it's going away real fast. Pop has found it's way into country. Jason Aldean is like Brad Paisley also.

... pop has been chasing country for years... like... Shania! or Dolly Parton!
Country Pop is just more popular, because it appeals to a wider audience.

Use to be you had two kinds of music... Country & Western.
Now you have; Honky Tonk, Bluegrass, Rockabilly, Country Soul, Country Rock,
Outlaw Country, Country Pop, Truck Driving Country, Traditional Country, Hillbilly Boogie, etc.

[edit;] I almost forgot Country Swing

it's a repressed memory I have from one of my x's... she loved it, and I hated it.
I didn't hate the music...just the dudes that could dance swing.

I'd sit and drink extra hard, watch them dance and I'd glare extra hard at everybody... hoping someone wants to dance with me.

Two of the newest came from American Idol last year, and I hope they are successful... Scotty McCreery, and Lauren Alaina.

Well, there were the Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash (now Mark Stuart and The Bastard Sons), but other than them, I don't keep up with new country much. I just stick to bluegrass.
Quite frankly, I was quite glad to hear Travis Sinclair, although I dare say, it's been tough for us in the states trying to find stuff by Nev Nicholls and Reg Poole. Are they even stil putting out new music?

I like the Just Another Trucker Passing By tune Roadhog - good find.

I listened to country for a couple of years awhile back. Randy Travis, Lorrie Morgan, Patty Loveless. 1990, give or take a year or two.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFJ0EfWgZ3c I had a Kentucky Headhunters hat and wore it proudly.
