How's this for a way to come off of vacation:
Dispatch calls me around noon yesterday with a preplan. The load picks up 150 miles or so from the house today @ 7am. Because of the snow @ home (and being bobtail), I decided to go ahead and leave yesterday and stay at a truckstop close to where the load picks up (plus I wanted some biscuits & gravy).
Got up this morning, checked the truck and everything was perfect. Drove the final 30 miles to the shipper with no issues. Dropped the trailer so they could load it (chemical plant - drivers don't go through the gate). Waited just under 5hrs for them to get it loaded. Once the trailer was back, I did all of my paperwork to be faxed to Canada and set to hooking back up to the trailer.
While I was hooking up/sealing/placarding, I spotted a damn flat tire on the tractor.
So, now I continue to sit in the same damn place I've already sat for 5hrs already for God knows how long until they find a Wingfoot dealer somewhere close to Natrium, WV, which isn't close to anything.
BAHHHHHHH
