Default Week Shot To H3ll

Man what a lousy week. The plant we haul out of is union, so monday was a holiday (lousy $100). No northern Arizona loads for tuesday, so after unloading friday morning...I came home till noon on tuesday. Ran to Heber (820 miles round trip) for wed. morn. Then to my hometown of Prescott (578 round trip) for this morn. Coming into Chino Valley....egr valve goes out. Dispatch has me drop my trailer in my backyard (got an acre) and bobtail to Flagstaff to drop it off for the weekend to get it repaired. Also had 393 miles to go back to Vegas tues. All in all, 1791 lousy miles, half what I usually do

Why the need to declare the plant is union? It does not add to the story of woe.

Thousands of plants were closed Monday, including some that are not union.

Better cover up, your bias is showing.

Maybe he is like the majority of drivers out here who believe that unions are good for nothing, self-serving, blood-sucking and generally of no account?

I'm guessing the workers who had the day off with pay would disagree with you.

Good point!

And, if I understood him right, HE got $100 from his non union company to sit at home? I wish I could get that when my shipper takes a holiday and costs ME a day!

Convert that $100 into miles and add it to the 1790 or whatever. NOW aren't you a bit closer to the "average?" And you didn't have to DRIVE those miles.

I'm not trying to rain on your pity party, Phantom. I understand how these "irregular" miles jobs are dependant on miles! I'm just so happy that most of my trips are coast to coast, and I don't have to spend every day "hoping" I'll get a good run tomorrow!

But, it sounds like you do alright most weeks, you needed a "break" anyway, didn't ya??

Been union...no problems with it, just don't like sitting, no bias at all.

Including pretty much all plants, union or not, and everything else that isn't in the retail/service sector. So what?

My shipper and receiver were both closed on Monday, so I got a day off with no pay at all.

Oh well. I needed an extra day off.

You can also blame the plant because they agreed to close on that particular holiday. You do know the contract goes both ways, not just for the union members.
