I was reading a discussion on another forum where one member said the min age for a class A is 18 and the other said 21. Just wondering, which is it? I told them I'd get them an answer here, and PM it to them to end the argument. Thanks.
In most states you can obtain a CDL at 18, but it is only valid for intra-state driving of a commercial motor vehicle. There are some states where the age requirements are higher.
You must be at least 21 in order to do interstate driving of a CMV.
Thank you for the reply. That is what I figured, but didn't want to get into the arguement and be wrong.
Now you can have the argument and be right.
Uturn do you know what states are 21 to get your cdl. In PA i know its 18 i thought they where all 18.
Well, I broke the info to this one guy and he just wants to argue, so I sent him here to see for himself. Told him that there are class A drivers here with more than 1 million miles. He replied with something that hardly sounds possible:
"I HAVE A MILLION PLUS ANOTHER MILLION MILES OF DRIVING ALREADY IM ONLY 22...ALL OCCURED WITHIN THE PAST YEAR IM A SUPERMAN TRUCKER"
Is it possible to get 1,000,000 miles in a year? I think he's full of :dung: . So, I told him to come here again, as there are drivers here that have been driving longer than both of us combined have been alive.
I just did some math, and it is impossible. You'd have to drive 40 hours a day 7 days a week, non-stop at 70 MPH to make 1,000,000 miles in a year. Only problem is there's only 24 hours in a day.
Maybe he means he has 2 MILLION MILES on the 18 wheeler video game
On average it takes a truck driver around 8 years to drive their first million miles.
Yes your "friend" is totally full of it.
