Wow, that guy must have been on another planet, not to feel that tuna can peeling back.

Top 3-reasons the driver didn't stop at any point during the 1.5 mile fireworks show were:
#3. He had his i-tunes cranked and he thought the can-opener sound was part of the music.
#2. Tunnels...yikes! He gets claustrophobic in elevators and was thinking "How soon can I get out of here?"
#1. He wanted to make sure his next driving job was "No New York City".
Poor guy. Looks like he totaled a newer trailer as well.

Mr. Cantu drove the entire 1.5 miles of the tunnel from Weehawken, N.J., to Manhattan, tearing his way under the Hudson River in the tunnel’s center tube and peeling back the roof of his tractor-trailer as if it were a tin can. No one was injured, but an undetermined number of decorative tunnel ceiling tiles were ripped off.
1 1/2 miles?!?!? How do you NOT know what is happening?!?!?Mr. Cantu drove the entire 1.5 miles of the tunnel from Weehawken, N.J., to Manhattan, tearing his way under the Hudson River in the tunnel’s center tube and peeling back the roof of his tractor-trailer as if it were a tin can. Holy Bejaggersnot, Batman!!
That one there is an absolute jaw-dropper.
Probably thought he should just as well take it all the way through rather than pay someone $1,000 to tow it out.
New York can be tricky though, half the posted height signs are a foot off. Today I ran Roanoke/Harrisburg/Buffalo and we go under a 12' 10'' on 63 North of Geneseo to get to Buffalo.

I tried to register so I could see this, but it kept failing, and I gave up. I gather it's an article or video about a guy driving a trailer through a tunnel that was too low.
