October 13, 2014 (Tacoma, Wash.) – Interstate Distributor, a trucking company known for its commitment to safety, service and operational excellence, just released a significant pay increase for Owner Operators who choose to be paid on rate per mile. This increase comes on the heels of Interstate’s recent 3% rate increase for Independent Carriers for the 4th quarter.
Owner Operators who elect to run throughout the company’s Western region, and who hold a current Hazmat endorsement, can earn $1.01 per loaded mile. A minimum of $0.99 per loaded mile is available throughout the company’s network. This rate is one of the highest available in the industry and places Interstate at the top of competitive pay packages for Owner Operators.
“Owner Operators not only have to be strong professional drivers, they also have to be smart business owners,” said Interstate Distributor’s Program Director, Jack Mowreader. “The $1.01 rate increase allows our Operators the opportunity to be more successful because they don’t have to worry about how every freight load affects their bottom line. We value their contribution and want to provide the best compensation package so they can focus more on growing their business.”
As the fastest growing truckload carrier in the nation, Interstate is expanding its Owner Operator division in support of the company’s Fortune 500 customer base. Operators can choose to be paid on rate per mile or percentage of gross revenue and can take advantage of Interstate’s first-in/first-out dispatch system, owner education program, new discount tire and maintenance program, fuel purchase discounts, a sign-on bonus (including base plates and licensing) and generous fuel surcharge program. The company also offers flexible solutions for drivers who want to Lease or Purchase a truck through multiple vendors. Interstate also has one of the lowest overhead programs including deep discounts on insurance, Qualcomm rentals, no trailer fees and no administration fees.
