Barr-Nunn to Increase Starting Team Pay to $0.51/mi

Granger IA (December 18 2012) Barr-Nunn Transportation has announced they will be increasing pay for team drivers from $0.50 to $0.51 per mile effective January 21 2013.  The new pay structure applies to team drivers with hazmat certification; additionally Bar Nunn will pay a $0.03 premium on all hazmat loads in 2013. The company will continue its current bonus structure of a $2500 sign-on bonus (split) to all teams as well.
Barr-Nunn freight is 85% drop and hook and all drivers start off with a two-day orientation designed to introduce them to the company and provide them with a solid base. Once on board drivers are able to work with some of the newest equipment in the industry including that 2013 Freightliner Cascadia. Company drivers are paid weekly and when applicable receive a CSA bonus every 90 days.
Other benefits Barr-Nunn plans to offer in 2013 are a paid time off program Blue Cross Blue Shield Health insurance free life insurance as well as a 401k plan ($0.02/mi on all paid miles) that starts on day one.  Barr-Nunn has made it clear they are putting an emphasis on helping drivers plan for their future.
