Barr-Nunn Celebrates Four Years of Practical Miles

By: Barr-Nunn Transportation

Granger IA (May 7 2010) — Barr-Nunn
Transportation Inc. is proud to celebrate 4 years of Practical Mileage pay to
their company drivers and owner operators. In May of 2006 Barr-Nunn switched to
paying their drivers based on practical miles. This pay system allows Barr-Nunn company drivers and Independent
Contractors the fastest most practical truck route and is in contrast to the
industry standard miles referred to as household goods miles.

“Back in 2006 the Barr-Nunn Driver Advisory Council made up
of our company drivers and independent contractors helped us make the decision
to pay practical miles. This single change in our pay package was the biggest
raise ever given in Barr-Nunn history” says Jay Shiek Director of Operations
for Barr-Nunn. “ We remain one of the few companies paying Practical Miles four
years later. We believe it is not only
the better way to pay but the right way to pay the best drivers in the industry.”
