4roses... sorry to hear about the knee op. Had two o-scopes on the same knee 7 years apart, so I have an inkling of an idea what you are going through. STRETCH, and if you can, get on a stationary bike..... that motion will help BIG time.
See you soon on the road |

|
|
I don't know if anyone else has it, but my handle is Road Angel.
Of course there is a story that goes along with it...
I routinely stop and assist stranded motorist - those who really can't help themselves: Mothers with children, little ol' men and women... As long as there isn't a danger, I do what needs to be done to get them going again. Many stories... I had started to notice how everyone was referring to me as their "road angel", soooo... Now I'm known as Road Angel.
One of the things that I always told them when they offered to pay me for my help (never accepted, won't), was that instead of paying me, they could (those who were physically able to) help others, just like I helped them. I told them how to be careful and watch for warning signs of danger, taught them how to change their tires, batteries... anything that would help. So now there is a "Road Angel" club of sorts here in the Southwest.
I'm not with a carrier as of yet. I'm going into expedite trucking...I'm all ready except for finding my O/O who will hire me to run for him/her.
This is a fun thing. Now we will be able to know who's out and about!
See you all soon! Road Angel |

They call me Lost Time.
I picked it up when I went and saw my Ex at college in Omaha and partied a lil too hard the night before and didn't wake up till 4pm the next day. Also, it explains my signature 8) |

I'm The Lone Ranger. Story:
I don't have my CDL yet but have had a CB for a while. I drive (surprise surprise) a little green Ford Ranger with an 18" magnamount antenna and at least a 2 mile range :D (sending, anyway, although I had to set up a relay to hear that far)
Well once I was travelling (though I'm more comfortable calling it 'running') from Toronto, Ontario, to Albany, NY in a rainstorm so thick you could cut it with a knife. I was on the Cb just for fun and got in with a pair of father/son tanker yankers. Great guys, we had a real laugh and they sandwiched me between them and we allchatted. Other drivers started trying to figure out who the gal on the airwaves was and we all told them they'd never guess. Well until that time I hadn't really had much of a handle, when asked I'd give either my initials, a variation on my 'real' name or else use FreeFloat, a nickname I use for scuba diving mesasge boards.
Well these two guys told me I should call myself The Lone Ranger since I tend to drive solo, it's a Ranger anyway and it just makes sense. So there you have it.....
BTW I accidentally signed up as FreeFloat by sheer habit but PM'd a Mod about changing my nick here to The Lone Ranger........ but haven't heard back....... |

| They call me Funk Humor. I'm one of many smart as*' out there on the road... I started off as Fu*k Humor but some old Drivers took me aside on the CB one day and talked me into something a little more creative (not much i know). Though it all sounds the same when you get down south on I-10 across those swamps... Thank God for Air Ride and screw on lids. |

Ran with a guy across Utah, Idaho, and Oregon on the way home to Portland. I had been too busy to get a haircut recently so I had these huge sideburns.... guess what he decided to call me?
Elvis...
Didn't really keep that name but kind of a funny story. |

Mobil Maniac........by accident.
Back in the 70's I carried my snow ski's with me and skied when ever I could. My handle was Mogul Maniac. Moguls being the bumbs on a slope. I like taking them hard and fast. (I didnt drive that way)
Mogul sounds like Mobil on the CB..........I got tired of explaining so I just kept Mobil Maniac.......crazy about driving.
Never happier than when I have a steering wheel or handle bars in my hands. |
