The Tenth Amendment wrote: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
Oklahoma didn't declare that they're seceding, or anything of the sort - it sounds like they just want the federal government to butt out. |

| Get back to me when California secedes, so I can get to work organizing the parades and get the government started on making it a national holiday. |

The Right to Secede
How can the federal government be prevented from usurping powers that the Constitution doesn’t grant to it?
It’s an alarming fact that few Americans ask this question anymore.

I think New York should secede, too. But then that would call for independent thinking. Perhaps we should have Washington DC to secede.
This movement is GREAT!! I have no doubt that the U.S. government will come down hard on these people and states should this start to get grass roots support. It should be a wake up call to the "powers that be." |

| California doesn't need to secede....it just needs to be treated like Mexico. Drop yard in Reno and Bullhead City and they can come get their own damn freight! |

Any state willing to sell -- or have sold -- their roadways to foreign gazillionaires should secede and go ahead and claim loyalty to their true masters... I mean, how do you sell an American roadway to a foreign corporation for 75 years?... so that when the literal crap hits the fan we're all long dead and our kids kidz have to deal with the windfall... I suppose that was the point... and also how do you continue with this pushing of the thing when the majority of your constituents are literally *begging* you not to do it {ahem, cough... Pennsylvania cough}?????
And California.. weren't they once falling off into the ocean? WTH ever happened with that :?:
Assert your POWERS Oklahoma! I didn't think they were seceding... Could be they're just reminding this thing-that-used-to-be known as the Federal Government that there is a living, breathing entity known as The Constitution {gasp} that the forefathers intended (and designed) to be in effect well past the year 2008... gasp gasp gasp |
