| I got a call from work today, come to find out I'm no longer employed. They told me that it's too dangerous for me to work there and that they are letting me go! I can understand that it's too dangerous but why would they waste my time hiring me just to let me go a week later? Don't get me wrong it was a GREAT place to work but I just find it bullshit, I was working my ass off but in a way it's a good thing cause now I can concentrate on getting my CDL! So maybe I will call Peterbilt and see what is going on down there! |

That sux Bro!
I agree with you, something stinks in Denmark.
Makes you wonder what the "real" story is.
Having a "let go" on your resume is not good. I think they owe you better...and at least a good letter of recommendation, stating termination was of no fault of you.
I'm sorry, as I know you were so happy to be getting work, and a paycheck. Karma owes you...and hopefully something better will come along. |

| Karma is certainly being a bitch right now! I just called Midwest and they are not hiring! I need to call the Pete dealer and see if my application is still on file and see what is available! But as of right now I got a few weeks to see if I can get my foot in the door somewhere else. |

| I go down there Friday to get my check but honestly I don't see the point in getting a letter of recommendation cause I was only there a week. |

Hope your search for the next job works for you... |

That sucks! Twice!
Have you looked at Truck Centers in Troy? They have dispatch drivers, though it's an odd time of year. Still worth a shot, at least have your app in there.
Good luck. |

| Yeah thats true but whoever decides to hire me next I'm gonna tell them straight forward and if they want to clarify it call them. Honestly though Drew whats the point in even putting it on the resume and/or application? I was only there a week. I would put it on my resume and/or application to cover my ass though. I'm somewhat new to all this stuff! |

| Unless you worked "under the table" its documented that you worked their. I undertand its been only a week, probably all the more reason to get a letter. It will help plug in gaps in employment when filling out future applications. Working for one week may look suspicious to future employers, and years down the road the letter may come in handy. |

It could be that the company's insurance company found out you were "underage" according to their criteria for the type of work you were doing.
That would certainly be no fault of yours, but it's still BS.

I told you before- moving company. Thats where I got my CDL  You're almost 18 and its hhg season. Plus, theres like 20 agents for various carriers right in your area (as we discussed). You can drive under their authority without having to get qualified with the carrier (ie: local driver).
Food for thought. |
